I am the first to want Jeanty on the Cowboys, but you have to be realistic. Last season, knowing that they weren't going to get anywhere, that the season was already lost, they made the stupid mistake of winning games just for ego. Because of this, the Cowboys didn't have a top 10 pick in the draft, and the chances of selecting Jeanty were reduced, because possibly the Raiders will select him, and if not, the Bears. The most likely selection could be Omarion Hampton, but for Pick 12 he could be too high. So I see the possibility that they go down a little in the draft and could select Omarion and in the process get some extra picks.

Hampton definitely is too high for 12, would love to get something else in the 2nd or 3rd round.

For the money, I don’t hate the signing. On a one year prove-it deal, Javonte will be motivated to stay on the field and produce.

Draft a RB for the future in the first 3 rounds and we should be in a decent place.

There’s no conceivable metric to even begin to make that argument…and I don’t think Rico is all that good.

Williams hurt his knee and has never been the same. Payton was using guys that don’t belong on an NFL roster over Williams towards the end of last year because he was wildly ineffective. Past draft status is the only possible thing you could point to Williams being better than Dowdle.
