The knee injury took away his quick burst/quickness.

I remember hearing about him in high school here in North Carolina. He played for a small high school down east near the coast in North Carolina and helped lead his high school to four straight state championships. He was also high school valedictorian and an all-around great person. I really hate he had that bad knee injury.
