The Dallas Cowboys have signed USC OL DJ Wingfield, per his agent @TesslerSports. He signs with the team after a successful rookie minicamp tryout.

Wingfield was unknowingly out of eligibility when he transferred from Purdue to USC in 2025 and lost an appeal with the NCAA.

He started all 12 games in 2024 with Purdue at right guard, allowing three sacks and 21 pressures.

Cowboys always finding little nuggets in wierd places.

SOmetimes they work, other times not.

Player acquisition is a 24/7, 365-days-a-year process, people. Would you get it through your thick skulls? How many times does Stephen Jones have to tell us?

Cowboys!

I'd be a lot more interested in this guy as a flier if he wasn't already like 26.
He missed a year and not due to injury. oline also go just fine into their thirties.

Thinking about the age of an udfa when he’s able to sign a second contract seems a bit unnecessary

Today he is a potential All Pro. By September...

They are trying to corner the market on DJ's. They have on Tyler's.

DJ Rogers
DJ Withers
DJ Wingfield

Maybe if none of the DJ's workout on the field. They can use them as DJ's for the greek dancing music.

It comes together for some players later than others. The fact that USC wanted him as bad as it did is a good sign.

I'll be surprised if he makes the roster because our depth seems fairly set (Thomas, Bass, Hennessey, Cornelius/Keegan, Shelton), but it's not like some of those players can't be upgraded.

Old prospects don't physically develop so they have very limited ceilings.

This guy maxes out as depth. It's just not that interesting.
