Big NIL offers don't mean anything, especially for an overager.

I don't mind signing him either. But it's no different than just signing any number of bottom-roster filler. The league is full of those guys. But it is different than signing a 22 y.o. who missed his senior year and has physical growth potential.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. USC apparently saw enough in him from his time at Purdue to want him, so may as well give him a try. The growth potential thing to me can be overblown. Some players physically mature later than other players, mentally mature later or just get things figured out later. I'm for overturning every rock to find players.

I don’t care if he’s 19-25-30-35. If he beats the guys he’s competing against for the position, who cares?

He’s only really played one year of football and oline age isn’t always like some positions. USC wanted him bit ncaa ruled him ineligible. Likely a guard but worth looking at. Nearly half the roster won’t make the team right now but maybe you get lucky.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed USC OL DJ Wingfield, per his agent @TesslerSports. He signs with the team after a successful rookie minicamp tryout.

Wingfield was unknowingly out of eligibility when he transferred from Purdue to USC in 2025 and lost an appeal with the NCAA.

He started all 12 games in 2024 with Purdue at right guard, allowing three sacks and 21 pressures.
