If nothing else, biggest arms I've ever seen on someone of his stature. If a fight broke out between him and David Buehler, the universe would probably explode.

Unreal!! I went to high school with him and see him during the summers back at home (Bay Area), just sent him a text congratulating him I can't believe this! The Cowboys are lucky to have him on the team, literally the polar opposite of Jo Randle / Chris Mike persona. He is character personified. I've never met anyone more humble, nor someone who has more work ethic than Robert Turbin. I hope he is a Cowboy for many years! This is fantastic news!! WOW!

We were enamored by the potential of Christine Michael. I'd rather go with someone with strong character and intelligence.

Turbin has a similar skill set compared to Michael; except he's got a better head on his shoulders and can pick up a blitz.

I just read an old article on the Seahawks from an NFL preview magazine when Turbin was in his second season. It mentioned Turbin carved out "a regular role in the two minute offense". Maybe this is the third down back we need to fill Lance Dunbar's shoes...finally.

2 fumbles in 249 attempts over 4 years. 1 fumble in every 124.5 attempts doesn't seem too alarming to me. Maybe he coughed it up during camp, but he hasn't shown that on game day. Montgomery only coached Turbin for one year so I'd assume the "I didn't know him well" comment stemmed from their short tenure together rather than Turbin's inability to hold on to the pigskin.

He didn't go to camp with Cleveland, they only had him for a month. He only had 20 touches and didn't fumble once. Strange quote.

EDIT/
Broaddus does mention he lost one out of bounds and bobbled a pitch. Still doesn't deserve that quote imo.

I like the signing overall. I think he's the 'anti-Michael' in that, while he might not be as physically gifted, he's got a better head on his shoulders.

As long as we don't see the fumbling that Cleveland did, I think we should be happy with this move.

The bigger question is what number will he wear, think Cowboys give him #22?

Turbin looks very JAGish.

His longest carry rush is 26 yards and he has 0 rushing TDs.

They've ignored the backup QB issue for years and this season Jerrah and Co. let DM walk. Good call(s). 2-7 and headed for 5-11.

Turbin said all the right things when he got to Cleveland too, like how great the OL was and how he would get a 1,000 yards. I would rather wait and see if he is anything other than another Seattle reclamation project.

Ignored for years? We had the best arguably backup QB in the league just two years ago with Kyle Orton. The team misjudged Weeden without a doubt but we paid Orton quite a bit of money to be the backup.

But yes, losing Murray is the reason we are on this 7 game drought, not losing our undisputed leader of our franchise. You are also correct that we could find a better backup than Cassell at this point in the career...the Texans just put a claim in for Weeden because they are hurting for a QB, that should tell you enough about what is out there.

It is getting old when fans come on here complaining about losing Murray like it is the reason we have lost 7 straight. We are still a top 10 team in rushing and we would not have been the best running team like last season even if we had Murray without Romo.

I read comments from the coaches in Seattle about Michael and Turbin - in short, they all felt Michael had superior skills but they would tell him he needed to work like the less skilled Turbin. I'll take the good work ethic any day

Hopefully he motivates them to actually use a rotation. DMac isn't a game-in-game-out starter and our backups just occupy a game day roster spot they shouldn't.
