Pretty sure this is the opposite. Tomsula & MM went to Jones.

Maybe, maybe not.
McClay has a habit of finding this type of player,see Quin last year and other reclamation projects.
Maybe they have had their eye on him and went to Tomasula and kicked the can on down the road.
Doesn't really matter - Either way, I'd like to think that actually doing this was a collaborative effort. Which would make me feel warm and fuzzy about the FO working with the new staff.
