Signed by Cowboys Cowboys signing Saints first-rounder DE Payton Turner

i guess the jones are filling holes with stop gap players now at this point in signing this player.
Jerry did say he’s not using free agency to fill voids though.

Despite these signings, we still have voids on top of the voids created with the departures of J Lew, Gholston and Rico.

The man has been true to his word.

My question is why is Dallas signing these guys so early? It’s not like they’re beating anyone to the punch, outbidding other teams for their services. These are one to two year, below market value deals we’re talking here.

Are Dallas making these moves to give off the appearance of being active and willing to spend money?
They are making moves so that they aren't forced to draft positions. They then can draft any position as the draft plays out. These players don't stop them from drafting anybody and provide depth.

So who's starting at DE? Who's starting at CB? Who's starting at WR? Who's starting at LB? Who's starting at RB?

Are they planning (hoping) to hit on our first five picks in the draft? That's the plan? Draft five starters? How did it work out last year, when we started two rookies on the OL?

Signing role players is all good. But that's what you do AFTER you have your starters. Otherwise, the castoffs we've prioritized in the first two days of free agency will become our starters. Which they've all failed at.

and then they act surprised when it’s crunch time and our dudes fold like a lawn chair.

I think Thomas is Golstons replacement. Same "not really a DT not really a DE" who struggles against the run (which is odd because that was supposed to be Golstons strength coming out

I think Turner is just a dart throw on a talent underachiever
I like Thomas as a backup 3T

These guys love former first round busts thinking they are getting a first round talent for cheap lol. How has that worked out in the past? Lance was an awesome third string QB that they turned around. How many more examples recently? Again, all this money is adding up on a bunch of fringe players that could have went to an actual player or two that can help the team.
Marc Colombo comes to mind. Haha

70 pass rush grade from PFF — puts him in the top 40 of all DEs in the league.

13 pressures on only 189 pass rush attempts. So yeah, I’d say he’s a pretty solid at getting after the QB.
You and Will McClay. Putting in that work.
