I understand what you’re saying. We all get tired of certain things and attitudes expressed here. But this is a forum not a country club. A forum is all about people just expressing whatever they think. A club is where everyone usually agrees.

There are plenty of things I get tired of hearing around here but the variety of opinions expressed here is exactly what makes this place interesting. For every “whining” post complained about here, there’s a “cheerleader” “koolaid” post.

Variety is good.

At least with the "cheerleader kool aid" posts SOMEONE is deriving pleasure from the game!

How many “1 more” seasons are Cowboys fans supposed to endure without even a divisional round playoff win before a lack of patience is no longer called “whining”? Feel free to defend the Jones Jones family all you want but calling fellow cowboys fans “whiners” for being tired of mediocrity seems pretty small.

Too many people care too much about other people’s opinions rather than simply expressing their own, different opinion. For some, the majority of posts they make is just complaining about other posters.

As a fan you're going to be hear regardless, you're going to cheer regardless, you're not going to change anything, so to continue to whine at every decision, at every bad thing that happen and don't take any joy out of anything they do seems very small or insane. Why stay or do it? Think about that for a minute.

I cannot decide if that is simply just their way of coping or not.

It is like a devout zealot yelling at the people walking away from a tent revival.

Question: isn’t complaining about whining also whining?

Our own free agents don't count. They are supposed to play for free so we can spend more on free agents from other teams.

The problem is that with all of that spending, we don't even have the same team that got spanked by the Eagles when we played their starters last year. We have a hole at LB and on the O-line with the loss of Cooper and Hitchens. Martin isn't signed to an extension. Irving and Lawrence are only here for one year... so where' is all of that 'we resign our own' talk? Expecting a bunch of rookies to come in and significantly make the team better with a bunch of midround picks is delusional. I'd feel a bit better if we actually signed the aforementioned 3 players for a few years, because I'd at least see we have a FOUNDATION. If Martin goes to another team, there goes our O-line. Tyron has back problems that could easily spur back up. With Lawrence and Irving possibly gone, our D-line is in shambles... so both sides of the line could be completely decimated next year with Zeke and Dak up for contracts.

But we may still be 6 points better than their back ups.

Overspending in free agency has never worked for the Cowboys. It’s going to take a lot of money to re-sign Martin and if DLaw has another big year it’s going to break the bank to re-sign him. If we overspend for players that may not fit in or help us very much we won’t be able to re-sign both Martin and DLaw who are two of our best players.

You know they don’t have to overspend. There are always some decent contracts out there.

There’s very few decent contracts in free agency. Most free agents are being way overpaid. To find a decent contract you have to find a player who’s had an up and down career or who’s coming off injuries and is willing to bank on themselves on a one or two year deal with no guaranteed money.

When was the last time they overspent in FA and when were they ever in cap jail???

Two of biggest myths about this team

They overspent for Brandon Carr in 2012 and a few other free agents. Carr signed a 50+M contract with a lot of guaranteed money. Not even he could believe the size of the contract. He never came close to playing up to the level of that contract.

So one contract in 10 years and that guy played out and started his entire deal and never missed a game..... the horror
