The Cowboys would have merely tied the game 21-21 had Smith caught it. The outcome most certainly did not hinge on that drop, although it would have boosted Dallas' odds of winning a bit.

Jackie Smith is the only Cowboy I truly despise as a player. Don’t have issues with him as a person but I will never forgive him for that drop.

Yeah, I feel bad for the guy. He had an outstanding career. Now he's remembered for that.

... I can't stand to watch Super Bowl 13. I watched the beginning one time recently, but couldn't bring myself to keep watching, knowing what happened.
