Cowboys still haven't recovered from Parsons trade yet

This isn’t about discussing whether it was a good trade or not. I think we have exhausted that discussion.

No doubt we received much in compensation . But what we have received thus far hasn’t enabled this defense and team to fully recover.

If anything this defense has continued to decline and it’s much worse in last two years than previously with Parsons.

So, do we have to wait another year and draft to begin to recover and rebuild this defense. Do we have the right coaching in place. Was our trade for Q the right use of resources???

Right now I’d argue we have more questions than answers and we haven’t recovered from Parsons trade yet.
Trade was good, what they haven’t recovered from is Jerry trying to play GM and show the world what a great football man he is. Not sure the use of draft capital was great for older guys, but that’s Jerry desperately trying to show that he’s a sly fox, instead he is just a old fool. Let’s wait till Christmas to see how good or bad this team is and go from there. Just remember Jerry is building a championship team, it’s just bad luck the last 32 years

Again as stated this isn’t intended to discuss whether a good or bad trade. Just the fact we haven’t recovered . Defense is arguably as bad or worse.

And it can still change but why I added yet. Really not an argument just stating the obvious.

Again, the 2024 defense with Micah was 31st in points allowed and 28th in yards.
Not defending Zimmer too much, but we lost DeMarcus Lawrence for the season and Micah for part of the season. When Micah came back, we were improved on defense. Not enough for Zimmer to keep his job, but there was a noticeable jump.

Even though he tore his ACL last season for Green Bay, the whole league understands that he's a dynamic player, so I have no doubt we'd be better with him here. How much better is the problem because we also know there are several players we wouldn't have. Before getting rid of Micah, Jerry showed no urgency to put a quality defense around him. So with Mazi Smith at NT instead of Kenny Clark, no trade for Quinnen, etc., I can't say we'd have much more than Micah having to fight through multiple blocks to get pressure on the QB while our secondary gives up quick throws to nullify his pass rush and our DTs get moved out of the way for the running game. ... And that's if he didn't tear his ACL.

They recovered exactly 30 seconds after the trade. No regrets.

Review the 2024 defense.

LOL at the coping while we have the worst D in football (again).

Trade was a DISASTER then and it's a DISASTER now.

HOF-level pass rushers get paid for a reason. They matter.

It's also not just about how many sacks he got; it's also about that he got double teamed. I'm not studying film, but I doubt we have anyone who gets as much double coverage now. But one guy drawing double coverage makes someone else better.

Neither does #4, but we still have to put up with him.

And no, I'm not a Micah fan.
Yep. Just more attempts by some to deflect . It’s still irrelevant to the bigger point that can’t be disputed that that our defense hasn’t recovered yet from Parsons trade.

We had every reason to believe that after the trades and draft picks we made as a result of trade and other acquisitions we were on the cusp of recovering from trade . But that hasn’t come to fruition yet.

I’d add we should have recovered already. We obviously added more talent than we had last year. But we haven’t recovered , not yet anyway. Amazingly if anything, maybe it’s worse.
