Cowboys still need blazing fast WR/KR

Anyone else agree? The cowboys still need a blazing fast (4.3/4.2+) type receiver that can also return kicks. I think that type of speed threat can go a long way to help this team. Someone who can really take the top off the defense and is a real threat on special teams (KR/PR). Somebody Dak can dump a quick short route to and they break off a 60 yard gain. Can Tolbert become that guy? Thoughts???

Every year I hear people say this and I have to remind them Dak doesn't have the arm to properly utilize a burner. How many times have we seen our receivers behind the defense and have to slow down to catch his pass?????

KR: The majority of kickoffs in recent years have been touchbacks.

PR: Many great punt returners, were not 4.3 type players.

2021 leader Ray-Ray McCloud ran a 4.53 at the combine.

The best deep ball WRs are often not 4.3 guys.

Tolbert and Gallup will be the deep ball WRs.

Bob Hayes was the only “blazing fast” WR that had success with the Cowboys. TO was fast but not sure I would call him “blazing fast” when he was with the Cowboys. Our three Super Bowls in the 90s were won without blazing fast WRs. Amari Cooper was fast and was a great route runner we’re going to miss that.

I disliked Pollard running back kicks then I believe it was Thanksgiving against Vegas he brings a kick back for a TD . That sold me . As far as Punts same thing Cee Dee is elusive seems he’s one block from bringing one back let him keep the job .

Don’t Washington and Tolbert bring vertical to the passing game . To me it’s a matter of better blocking and QB play to get the ball in the hands of who’s here right now .

They just drafted Tolbert & Lamb last season. Let's not get spoiled.

They aren't burners. They could have gotten someone with 4.3 speed in this draft. They didn't.

They only matter if they are actually good players. We had Tavon Austin, and he sucked. The opportunities to get actual impact speed WR's arent that frequent.

Besides, taking the top off of the defense is something we have been able to do without speed WR's. Threatening teams vertically hasnt been an issue for us

Indeed the Cowboys have had a ton of speedsters over the years but none of them has materialized into a great receiver. The mistake of course is drafting small school guys with a track background and acting like we can teach them how to play football. People all too often forget that the great Bob Hayes was a football player first who really did track in his spare time.. not the other way around.

You missed out on Pollard a year before , when he finally starting getting the hang of it, once his nerves settled down and self confidence grew,
and we started seeing exploding with 50-60 plus kick off returns in 2020... i think he had like 3 of them ..

Yeah I’ve seen every game since oh I don’t know Landry …my concern was injury on kickoff but then he left Raiders in the dust and it was probably his best overall play as a Cowboy
