Cowboys talked about Gallup in second round?

They might have talked about Gallup in the second, but I don't think he was ever considered there very seriously. From what I heard on this board, the final decision was between Williams and Justin Reid.

The Dorance Armstrong trade up kind of sounds like fake news to me. I heard the Cowboys were trying to move up back into Round 3, but Armstrong just doesn't seem like the kind of guy they'd do it for. They spent a lot of time in this draft hammering needs and Armstrong wasn't a need.

Guess we'll need another leaked draft board to see if it's all true or not. Let's make it happen, Jerry.

Oh man, you beat me to it. and took so many fewer words to get the point across too.

Damn.

On the contrary, I was going to say you did a good job of spelling it all out. I didn't watch the war room cam, so I didn't know any of that had happened.

I'm sure they had brief discussions about several players. The only thing I get out of this is that they at least somewhat considered Gallup to be worth pick No. 50. Of course, he could have been in a group of 50 players the team felt was worth pick 50.

Ten years later? I was saying big deal cause it doesn't matter about Gallup either. Doesn't mean he was worth a second round pick and doesn't mean he was a steal. Most likely he will be a JAG and not much more TWill was.
In theory, nobody knows what someone will be, but Gallup has better receiving skills coming out of college than Twill (who was more of a traits player).
