Either that are a Grade 1A ballhawking S higher in the draft.

I don't think there is grade 1 ball-hawking Safety in this draft. The top Safety is an In the Box type and the top ball-hawk can't or won't tackle.

Holliman would be my choice. I don't see him as being a great SS but he can play in the box. I don't even like huge hits by DBs anymore. Too many penalties.

Holliman worries me. He has a knack for creating turnovers but its not his bad tackling that scares me. It is the abysmal angles he frequently takes, which for a last line of defense could turn into easy TDs. Tackling can be taught if he is willing which I think he is. Football awareness is not as easy to coach up.

I'm not sure we can get one there. Just like a Grade 1A pass rushing DE we may need to pay for one.

I think Holliman can play FS but I don't think that is a huge need for us esp in the eyes of the FO and coaches.

I don't think a grade 1A edge rusher will be there but you have to hope you find someone in the draft to develop. Best to go out and buy what you need. Not sure that is an expedient answer for the Cowboys though.

You and @xwalker are right in there is not a can't miss ballhawking safety in this draft. I expect there will be 2-3 with at least one really good. Holliman has loads of instincts if you are speaking about football instincts. You can coach a player up re tackling if they aren't adverse to contact. Angles is both coachable and instinct. Either a dog can catch a frisbee in mid air or he can't. Hard to teach it. You can definitely improve.

I'm way way more interested in a S who can pass defend and create turnovers. Generally....generally...most safeties can slow or stop a player.

Holliman woud be a good project, but he probably needs a year of NFL coaching.

I would consider him in the 4th round but somebody probably takes him earlier.

I would take him in the second if I were looking for a safety. I think we need a S or two but I think we need CB, DL and maybe LBer more.
