The best thing about Hatcher was the report I got about Bill Belichek calling Parcells on the phone to call him an SOB for stealing his next pick.

Hatcher's going to be a nice pick. Bank on it.
Wait a minute. According to some, we overpaid for Hatcher taking him much sooner than needed because he would have still been there in the 4th round.

Your story was broke pretty early as I remember reading that before the draft was over. The bottom line is we were lucky to get him. Getting Hatcher is pure genius.

We didn't overpay. Arizona wanted him. New England wanted him. New Orleans wanted him.

We took him in the third and these teams were ready to pounce on him as soon as day two started. It has been well documented.

No matter how many times it is repeated, you will still get someone who suggests we reached.

That's what happens when the Draft guys don't know who someone is so they grade soemthing as a reach. Forget that the NFL personnel guys don't agree, you have the pulpit, preach.

When a thread about a player's potential, like this one, is started I am always pleased to see a responsible discussion of the player's attributes and possibilities. I am less pleased to see the thread junked up with attempts at cuteness.

The draft reviewers who downgraded our drafts clearly didn't have a clue with the story or situation regarding Hatcher. We didn't overpay despite the critics. I'm still thrilled with the pick and his future.

Jean Jacques-Taylor, writing for the Sporting News, reports the Dallas Cowboys' coaching staff loves the potential rookie DE Jason Hatcher has. Coaches like his ability to rush the passer, though they have asked him to focus on trying to create a pet move first before he adds others to his repertoire. The team needs to develop some depth at defensive end and Hatcher could help fill that need.

The pass rush moves for DL & LB are: swim, speed, rip, bull, spin, The Club (Reggie White).
There isnt to many other variables to these moves.

A "pet" move is a unique move that certain players can only make. Some players cannot execute all the defensive moves, so the coaches make them work on ONE move that they can do REALLY good...then they build from there. That gets the player started and help the player to gain confidence to go to the next level....

I'm sure there are other interpertations of a "pet move" that some other posters can come up with...

Bring back Deacon Jones and his head slap.
