It just doesn't sound like a formidable plan. Like they're winging it.To me the plan is a second tag, which will buy them time to either sign him long term or trade him for premium picks.
Exactly. Choosing between a 6 foot 3 fast wr with elite ball tracking skills vs. Sir-Drop-A-Lot. The decision is not hard if the front office decides to choose only one.If Pickens plays like I think he will this season, maybe Dallas will find a way to keep him.
I love the guy too, and there isn’t another WR in the league as good at locating and catching the ball in just about every situation.
They are cheap with cash. It is that simple.I just don't know what they are doing. Maybe its above my paygrade maybe its some financials they are holding off of. Maybe there's a method to the madnesss but its hard for me to understand why wait for him to do what we all sort of feel he's going to do? He's going to dominate again. Either he dominates or he sucks and we let him walk. Does anyone see him sucking? I don't know I just don't understand it. I'm a fan of his. Through the good and bad. Always was.
Him playing on the tag with no guarantees of the future....it show she bought in. I would never do it. I don't think many would. What ever reputation he had should be washed away after what he's doing now.
WE can't say they are "Cheap" when they just gave them the deal they did with Quinn en. And last year overpaid Osa, Bland and Ferg. This is calculated. They are cheap with cash. It is that simple.
I can absolutely say that right now. They are cheap.WE can't say they are "Cheap" when they just gave them the deal they did with Quinn en. And last year overpaid Osa, Bland and Ferg. This is calculated.
Well not having the cash is not "cheap" though. Because Dak's contract is far from cheap. Osa wasn't cheap. Lamb wasn't cheap. They spend money. They spend it on their own players.I can absolutely say that right now. They are cheap.
It is why they don't participate in free agency, and it is why they are taking the most expensive path, against the cap, with Pickens.
Either they don't have the cash (lol) or they don't want to spend it.
So your argument is that Jerry Jones, who has a net worth of $15-20b doesn't have money?Well not having the cash is not "cheap" though. Because Dak's contract is far from cheap. Osa wasn't cheap. Lamb wasn't cheap. They spend money. They spend it on their own players.
To be fair Jerry Jones' net worth means nothing here. The salary cap is the same for all 32 teams. It's not like the Cowboys can just use Jerry's billions and go out and get 53 all pros every year.So your argument is that Jerry Jones, who has a net worth of $15-20b doesn't have money?
LOL OK
My argument? You verbatim said they don’t have the cash.So your argument is that Jerry Jones, who has a net worth of $15-20b doesn't have money?
LOL OK
Glad he's great at being a WR!! LOL
Uh, no. I said they are cheap. They have the cash and don't want to spend it.My argument? You verbatim said they don’t have the cash.
And this is why I said it’s above my pay grade b cause I don’t think it’s not having the cash. Your net worth isn’t the money you have in the bank.
You can be a billionaire but a lot of billionaires have their money tied up in real estate or stocks.
I’m just saying I dont think it’s a scenario where you have 15 billion in the bank and just write a check to sign someone. I suspect they have to find the money and maybe they don’t want to. I don’t know the answer honestly. That’s why I’m asking. Some of us don’t always have the answers sometimes we ask.
No, but that's not the argument. To be fair Jerry Jones' net worth means nothing here. The salary cap is the same for all 32 teams. It's not like the Cowboys can just use Jerry's billions and go out and get 53 all pros every year.
Yeah I don’t think it’s as black and white as he thinks which is why I’ll reserve why they don’t do some thing things. To be fair Jerry Jones' net worth means nothing here. The salary cap is the same for all 32 teams. It's not like the Cowboys can just use Jerry's billions and go out and get 53 all pros every year.
Wouldn’t saving 12-15 support someone who’s cheap?No, but that's not the argument.
Jerry could have paid Pickens this offseason and saved some $12-$15m against the cap. The reason he hasn't done that is because he is cheap.
What?Wouldn’t saving 12-15 support someone who’s cheap?
So you think the process is just you go to the bank and get the money and spend it? I think you give them too much credit. Incompetent I can see. Cheap? Nothing suggests they are cheap.Uh, no. I said they are cheap. They have the cash and don't want to spend it.
I got you now. This team's lack of urgency is maddening. They rarely sign key players early. Then the market continually resets and they end up having to overpay. Then they do overpay their guys; which in turn becomes the built-in excuse for being inactive in free agency. No, but that's not the argument.
