Cowboys tendered Alan Ball, Steve Octavien, too

I look for both players to be productive next year.

It would not surprise me to see Ball starting over Newman.

Octavien showed some potential in the preseason. I was hoping he would get some playing time. But, not much opportunity when Ware, James, Brooking, and Spencer are in front of you.

WHAT?
No way. Ball showed marked improvement, but not that much to overtake Newman.
I actually had Ball as a strong possibility of being cut. but with Mike Hamlin's injury, and a few others, as well as a few rookies that looked horrible in camp, and were released, he was kept. And played well when needed.

Shows you excactly why I am not a football coach or scout.
