Cowboys-Texans
Clarence Hill already reported that the Cowboys would play the Texans in the preseason as well as the regular season. It appears the Cowboys' fourth of five preseason games will be in Houston, when the Cowboys break camp in California.

The Texans will close the preseason against Tampa Bay.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said nothing has been finalized other than the Cowboys will start the preseason against the Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game. They will play one preseason game on the West Coast, while they are training in California. They will begin training camp in San Antonio.

The Cowboys and Texans did not play last season.

"I always want to play the Cowboys every year," Texans owner Bob McNair said Monday. "We did up until last year, and we hope to again, starting next preseason. I think we should play them every year."

Phillips high on Buehler
Rookie kicker David Buehler led the league in touchbacks last season, but he didn't attempt a field goal. The Cowboys struggled in that area, using two field-goal kickers last season and making only 20-of-31 attempts.

They have signed Connor Hughes, who kicked for the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL in 2008, but Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he still has high hopes that Buehler can become a field-goal kicker.

"He has potential there, I think," Phillips said. "...He certainly has the leg to kick it far enough. In this case, it saves us a [roster] spot [if Buehler handled both jobs]. It's something worth trying to do obviously."

Hopefully half the stadium are Cowboys fans. That will really piss off the Houston fans.

They are already salivating over the Cowboys coming there in the regular season and the 19-10 is back.

Strange how they conveniently forget that the last time the Cowboys and Texans meet in the regular season the Cowboys pounded them. Never hear that from any Texans fan though. Just 19-10!

Hmmmmmmm...... I sure hope Buehler can win the freakin' job! I'm still upset it took up TWO roster spots in 2009.

Please draft a kicker to compete with this kid.

If we have the kicker we ended up with at the end of the year, because we don't have a kicker, I'm going to be upset.

They better fix the kicker spot.

Bad kickers get coaches fired.

in all fairness though buehler contributed more that just kick offs he was punt coverage too so it was basically a special teams roster spot and teams have those

I know exactly what you mean! I live in Houston and they NEVER seem to remember that butt whoopin they took the last time we played them. As far as the fans. I will be at that game and it will be 50/50 just like it is at every pre-season game we play here. Believe me they hate that!!!! LMAO:lmao:

The David Buehler lives vicariously through himself.

The David Buehler gets a huge income tax rebate because he alone can divide by zero.

For Houston, Dallas is their Super Bowl. Even pre-season games between the 2 teams tends to be a big deal for Houston. I know for many here in the Houston area this is more than just football it is Dallas vs Houston the blue collar vs the white collar and because Texas is a big football state this game take on more meaning for many down here in H-Town.

Yep. Seems their fans don't quite get the concept of winning their own division games as being important but would rather whip up on the Cowboys.

I even read one comment from a Texans fan that said that Mario Williams was "bearing" down harder on Romo at the Pro Bowl because he was a Cowboy and the Houston fans hate the Cowboys so he was doing it for them.

You read and hear all sorts of crap down here about the Texans/Cowboys. It's so silly.

As I said for many here in Houston this is more than just a football game. Because football is a big deal in Texas the game takes on a life of its own. I also know many people in Dallas who do not give this game a second thought but Houston has been the team looking up at Dallas never once achieving what Dallas has been able to do.

We moan and groan because it has been a while since our last SB win, Houston has never been and it kills them knowing their neighbors to the North have had great success.

Very true. The Texans fans are bragging about FINALLY getting a winning record last year. 9-7 made them very proud. My feeling is if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs and SB then it's been a major fail somewhere. They are just worried about getting one game over .500.

For the record the Houston Texans are the ONLY NFL team to have never made the playoffs. That must sting.

The last time Houston had something real special was the Love Ya Blue years with Earl and even that came up short. The Run and Shoot team with Warren Moon also was close but how their season ended especially the loss to Buffalo after being up by around 30 points only to lose was a major embarrassment for them and a great day for me as a Cowboy fan living in Houston. :laugh2:

I loved Earl. What a great player. He's pretty much crippled now although I heard he had some recent surgery. He came down to Texas City a few years ago. They had him in an RV till the last minute and he was in a wheelchair. That strong guy all broken down was hard to stomach.

That Buffalo game. Oh my. Choke job for the ages.
