I loved Earl. What a great player. He's pretty much crippled now although I heard he had some recent surgery. He came down to Texas City a few years ago. They had him in an RV till the last minute and he was in a wheelchair. That strong guy all broken down was hard to stomach.

That Buffalo game. Oh my. Choke job for the ages.

My dad was so upset that he stopped watching the Buffalo vs Houston game he hated the Oilers. He went out to the garage to do something else. All of a sudden Buffalo scored so I went out and told him jokingly that the big come back was under way he just looked at me and said yeah right, then Buffalo scored again and I told him I tell you big comeback is happening he still did not buy it and honestly I did not either until Buffalo scored again then he came back into the living room to watch it as Houston collapsed once and for all. Great game and had allot of fun with the Oiler fans the next day. :laugh2:

Please draft a kicker to compete with this kid.

.
That's what the RFA pool is for. Bring in a kicker or two and let them compete. No need to burn a valuable draft pick on a kicker unless he's very close to a sure thing.

They did bring in Connor Hughes to compete for the FG spot. As for getting a restricted FA why would Dallas make an offer for a RFA since it would cost us a pick to do so.

I keep reading the Cowboys are interested in the kicker from Bama. Think it's Bama. Anyway drafting the kid in the later rounds is what I've read.

I can barely stomach Houston sports talk except for 790 occasionally but the fans still talk about that game. It's stuck in their crawl for eternity.

I'm friends with John McClain of the Houston Chronicle and sometimes it is hard to believe that he grew up a Cowboys fans living in Fort Worth. He does a good job of giving Cowboys some love now and then but can be tough on them as well.

Imagine if you will, a game, a football game, played in a new enormous stadium in Arlington Texas. The game, a Super Bowl,,, The teams, for one it is a home game, the other, a short trip up I-45. For one, a return to glory, the other, unchartered waters...... Allow your mind to enter,,, the Jerry Dome... (Cue Twilight Zone music)

:lmao: :lmao2:

Eh I'm torn about John. He's been nice to me in a few emails to his blog but he sort of talks out of both sides of his mouth about the Cowboys. Depends on the company he's in I think. When he's on 610 he tends to get more like the guys on there and gets his anti Cowboys hat on.

Isn't he from Waco?

We are short a pick this year. Risking a pick on a kicker leaving us with only 5 picks doesn't feel right to me.

My bad. I had RFA (rookie free agent..not restricted) on my mind and meant to write UDFA.:
yeah, definitely a big difference.

Dallas may do that. still a ways off before we go to camp. Some of the names out there are out there because they played about as bad as Folk did.

I guess Graham would be one.

If Buehler won the job as field goal kicker, his days covering punts would thankfully be OVER. Can't afford to have your lone kicker on the punt coverge team. Too risky regarding injuries.

Only an Idiot or a head coach with no authority would have Beuhler on the roster and not have him rdy to kick FGs when needed!
