That may be true....but if no butts in the seat, no paid parking and no concessions or merchandise sold. So indirectly it does affect other things not just tickets.
Honestly though, people are too stupid to not show up. That place will still be 90% full today and he'll still make millions off of the sheep.

Bingo. If Dallas fans don’t buy ticket, opposing teams will just buy tickets

Cowboys ticket prices are about 1/2 to 1/3 of the prices they were selling for just one week ago. If this isn’t a great indicator of how Cowboys fans are feeling about the Cowboys, nothing is.

If we stink it up again today, I am expecting that much additional decrease next week. Keep in mind that Jerry hosed season ticket holders with a huge ticket price increase this offseason.

I don’t think that is sitting well with many Cowboys season ticket holders, but not many options available as they have a PSL and are obligated to buy tickets.

As I said in a previous thread, this could get very ugly in a hurry. I think you are going to start to see Cowboys fans vocalizing their frustration more than ever.

I don't think it matters, does it?

Jerry has already made the money off the PSLs and season ticket holders. These are fans that were duped by the Joneses again trying to offload a bad investment and reclaim their Sunday afternoons.

This trend is similar to what anti-Jerry Jones as GM via loss of ticket revenue advocates have been hoping over the past 20 plus years. Perhaps now everyone will have the opportunity of witnessing what Jones may or may not actually do with his GM position due to loss of ticket sales (even though it is not first-run sales).

Well these first run sales won't last for long because people are selling them probably at half cost.

I think that you know that is not going to happen. Every year the value of the franchise increases and is always one of if not the most valuable sports franchises in the world.
They have plenty of wiggle room and it's not close to a financial crisis no matter how much we wish it would be for changes.
The only change MIGHT be if Jerry dies or has a mental or physical condition that makes them remove him from the operation of the Cowboys.

This franchise will continue to make money, will continue to get some of the best TV ratings when they play and continue to have enough fans.
I posted an article a couple days ago about his businesses away from the NFL which have achieved multi billionaire status. His natural gas company is and has been literally raining money. Jerry and family won't have the need to join Groupon anytime soon. You literally can't hurt him financially. Only his ego.

As well they should but I'll say this, Jerry is the greatest con man of all time because he continues to put mediocrity on the field but still sells his product at the highest levels year after year and still people buy it.

Yes, Jerry has already made money tickets. However, if you’re going to get a sustained drop in ticket price that hurts his bottom line, this is how it will start.

My apologies. My "first run sales" reference describes tickets that were sold when teams initially began releasing them for purchase last May. I am not referring to tickets being discounted recently.

At this point in time, Jerry values his big ego more than money. So the talk about his failures in creating a championship team are a bigger hit to him. You can see it is affecting him in the way he talks in his interviews. He hates and despises those questioning him. Greedy S.O. B... Too bad he can't take it with him.

I honestly don't think he gives a damn what anybody thinks. In his mind, he's the most successful owner/GM in the history of sports because of the value of the team.
He doesn't. As long as "eyes are on the Cowboys", he could care less who's "eyes" they are.

This real life event may be a first tangible opportunity for "Jerry's Greed Will Change Him" promoters to hang their hats on.

Bad product plus some folks feeling the pinch of the current recession equals shrinking prices

More people living paycheck to paycheck and having to prioritize their spending choices
