I doubt this has anything to do with RGIII. Washington has a long history and before Dallas and other cities in the south had teams those states had lots of fans who rooted for Washington.

The surprise to me is the Houston Texans. While they are not ranked in the top 10 they still are ranked fairly high. They don't have a long history and they haven't ever been a truly good team.

Must be something about being in Texas. I don't know what the stats are, but it seems to me that some of the biggest football fanatics, those who eat, sleep, and breathe football, are Texans. Just look at how many good Texas high school teams there are, how many highly ranked recruits come from there. Plus Texas is the 2nd most populated state in the country. So maybe that might explain why the Texans make a lot of money... I'm guessing many of the people who live in Texas that hate the Cowboys jumped at Houston when they became a franchise... lol. All just speculation from me though.

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
You underestimate that fanbase, man. I grew up in that area and my parents have been living there now for 20 years. Those people there love them some Washingtons. My principal in middle school would sing the damn fight song over the announcements on Monday mornings after those freaks would win a game. All it did was make me wear my Cowboys gear even harder growing up. I hate that team more than I'll ever hate the Eagles or Giants.

The fact that they were the Cowboys' nemesis all those years helped build that fanbase IMO.

I wouldn't give you a bag of Funyuns for the Knicks.

The Knicks are more of a brand than a team.

The Cowboys are fortunate to be fielding a team to go along with it's brand name and have an owner who wants to win in addition to making an enormous amount of money. Lucky for us, he finally got out of his own way.

They are tied with the New York Yankees and only $60M behind Real Madrid. (which is a drop in the bucket considering how quickly their value is rising, hell re-signing Dez might have changed it!)

1. Real Madrid $3.26 billion
2. Dallas Cowboys $3.2 billion
2. New York Yankees $3.2 billion
4. Barcelona $3.16 billion
5. Manchester United $3.1 billion
6. Los Angeles Lakers $2.6 billion
6. New England Patriots $2.6 billion
8. New York Knicks $2.5 billion
9. Los Angeles Dodgers $2.4 billion
9. Washington Commanders $2.4 billion

Americas Team!

Amy, congratulations! You've noticed the most important thing about this list....with the exception of the New York Yankees (who aren't satisfied with just owning the country...they want the entire universe,) the Cowboys are the only team from the U.S. in the top five....validating the claim that we are truly AMERICA'S TEAM (not that we needed validation, just sayin' :starspin: )

Never liked them anyway. Maybe Doritoes?
Yeah I think the stadium is a big part of the value. Jerry was smart about the way he did that.
