Cowboys to interview Saleh

I'm confused internally on this one.....he was horrible with the Jets but they were a mess with talent and ownership. On the other hand he is a legit candidate with a D pedigree. So who knows. I like it better than Witten or Kid Wonder and others but can't see the elevation overall.

I'd rather take this kind of shot on an offensive coach.

We have to do two of those now. For the record. As far as I know talking to Deion didn't count as a formal interview.

I'd have no problem hiring Saleh as the defensive coordinator, but from my understanding he prefers another headcoaching job.

Not my first choice by far, I am an advocate for offensive minded HCs, but I'd take him over an nepo pick like Moore or Witten. Sanders would be a joke.

Clearly, the Jets are better ran the last 24 years than the Cowboys. The proof is in the playoff results.

You would be too if Zach Wilson was your starting QB. One of the biggest QB busts in NFL history. Dude was/is legit garbage. He's Denver's 3rd String QB right now and he's lucky to be that.

It's also just the Jets, a top-3 dysfunctional NFL franchise of all time.

If we end up turning Mike McCarthy into Robert Saleh I don't know how you don't consider that a downgrade.

At least give me someone with the potential to be as good or better.

Any interview process should include a healthy mix of candidates. I will give Jerry Jones a bit of credit including Robert Saleh but will not extend anymore if Saleh is both:

1. on Jones customary short list (short may be an overexaggeration) and
2. is only being interviewed to show everyone else he is doing an extensive search for the best head coach he can get--which brings me back to #1

I keep hearing he's a better DC than HC. But, honestly, I do not know.

Unfortunately, that more often than not describes a lot of current and past head coaches in the NFL.

Some are just really good at one side of the ball, but not with managing an entire team and game each week.
