This is funny, we all will lose a mother, a father,a brother or sister if we have one, most have lost a grandparent/s. Many also have injuries or severe illnesses that take major time away from the job, most keep smiling and are liked by friends and coworkers, you point is what?
I don't understand it either.

An athlete has troubles just like everyone else, but yet people act like they're somehow more courageous than a normal person with troubles.

Imagine going through hard times and being dead broke with no support and still finding a way to prosper in spite of it. That's real courage.

Dak has been through a lot and has overcome the odds like magic, each and every time!

His forthright attitude and courage should be an inspiration to each and all of his fans. :)

I'm gonna try and help you out. I lost a son to crib death at 2 months, I lost my Moms, Sister and a Brother to AIDS and I nearly lost my mind. I didn't have to play professional football. You people act as if Breaking your leg (Horrifically) and coming back to play at the highest level is nothing to marvel at.

I mean I get it , we all wanna act tough, like it's no big deal, look at how tough I am. Not one person on this board could play the game at the NFL level. I know that when we loose a loved one , it hurts like hell.

Dak won an award, you may not like him, we get it. Dak was given an award, by his peers. You casting dispersions on the guy show's in living color why Dak has what he has, and you have what you have

To Dak ,Congratulations My Dude

Well deserved

Diddy, or Cardi B to some slime ball Rocker, to Da Baby we have no problem when one of these degenerates are praised but Dak, somehow we have a problem with that

Man I'm glad I'm old

Not exactly the trophy that we as fans want to see for this organization but hey, I guess it's something.

Football aside. From one father to another I'm sorry for your loss as I could never imagine what you went through my brother.

Dak is missing an opportunity here.

He could be saying how there is nothing courageous about rehabbing from even a serious injury when you are being paid to do so, and have access to the best care. Not to mention the motivation of millions of dollars in potential earnings to help drive you. He might use this spotlight to give attention to something that does embody courage.

That's the sort of truth that can garner a lot of respect.
You must be high.

I’ve only lost my grandparents….I can’t imagine losing my mom, brother to suicide and break my leg all before the age of 30….that’s rough.

And this is why you anti-Dakkers have been reduced to laughingstocks on this board.

Zero logic behind your hate. Just pure stupidity and ignorance.

Every single NFL team gives out this award to a member of their team.

I’m so sorry that the QB you hate so much is SO respected by his peers.

That’s what happens when you’re a WINNER in life, which I’m sure you couldn’t possibly understand.

The Ed Block Courage Award is an annual award presented to a player from each team in the National Football League (NFL) who are voted for by their teammates as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage.

Don’t be alarmed.

There’s a LOT of things you “don’t understand.”

It takes a lot of courage to heal from an injury. Sorry, I just don't get this. I had my gallbladder removed in 2001, and I was very brave about it. Where's my trophy???
“I work hard at my 9-to-5 job! Where’s my $40M/year contract!?!?”

Maybe don’t EVER compare yourself to Dak Prescott ever again?

I guess they figure if he's gonna be back there with this OL, he will need all the courage he can get. But a bit premature. Kinda like giving you the Purple Heart right before the Battle of Little Bighorn.

But seriously, i understand it is an award presented to a player from each team and voted by their teammates as role models of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage. Congratulations Dak.

I completely understand that this award is something that is given to somebody every year and not a special award created and given to Dak. I don't, and never said that Dak shouldn't have been given this award, because it does have to be given to someone and maybe he was the best candidate to receive this award that has to be given to someone.

My point, which seems to have gone right over your head, was that Dak, realizing that this was an award looking for a recipient and not an award created spontaneously, inspired by and initiated specifically to honor him, could have used the spotlight the award provided to acknowledge that even though he had to deal with a tough injury and rehab, he had the easiest road possible to deal with the tough circumstances. He didn't have to worry about feeding his family while he recovered. He didn't have to worry about the impact of the considerable expense involved in his treatment. His only responsibility was to rehab with state of the art care in state of the art facilities. Instead of losing the ability to earn money at his profession, his profession briefly changed from playing to rehabbing, with no change to his earnings or expenses. He could then have chosen an example of someone who had a similar, tough injury with none of the same safety nets that he had, who had to overcome far more than the injury itself to get back on track.

You seriously don't think something like that would have elevated his reputation in the eyes of everyone? His biggest critics couldn't deny the real leadership displayed, the inspiration provided and it would even show more courage than rehabbing in the most favorable conditions on earth does.

Yup, missed opportunity.

I'm sure I provided plenty of opportunity for you to fault my grammar, which is what you are now reduced to.

Reread what you wrote..you know damn well you said for more than that.

What I said was that there is nothing courageous about having to rehab from a serious injury when you have the luxury of no loss of income, no increased expenses. the best care on the planet and the motivation provided by millions of dollars of potential earnings, and that Dak could have shown real leadership by acknowledging that, and spotlighting someone in a similar situation but without the golden parachute.

Anything more you got out of that post is a figment of your imagination. Which is probably the reason why you play your childish little game of vague insinuation instead of shooting straight.
