Vonta Leach is a FA. I'm sure he'd do better than a 239 lb TE.

If they were going to pick up a vet they would probably wait until after the season started to avoid a salary being guaranteed. And as Broaddus has talked about, they need a mobile FB to work with Murray. A guy that just moves in a straight line and blows people up doesn't really help Murray. He misses Fiametta.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me to see them go in with no FB and sign one pretty early into the season.

We'd be talking about a vet minimum contract though.

Is that such a prohibitive amount that the time lost in working the guy into the mix is worth the 700K or whatever that could be "potentially" saved?

If a FA FB could actually help the team, seems awfully hard to say his base salary is what would hold the team up.

Yep. Nailed it.

The question is probably fullback v. h-back now. And they have the data they need to know which of the two FBs in camp they'd hand onto. Now they're bringing in a young h-back candidate to see how that looks. They can make that final decision coming out of camp and still look to add a vet if they want to go that route in week 2.

Now that this is off the list, maybe they can find a left tackle.

Classic cowboys, DLs thin, get a tight end!

I'm pretty sure the good d-linemen that could be had at reasonable cost are pretty hard to come by right now. The cuts will be forthcoming before long. Maybe, just maybe, they'll manage to get one that suits their druthers at that time. Sure hope so. We could easily accomodate another DE with pass rush ability right about now, that's for sure.

There's Le'Ron McClain, who's younger than Leach as well.

Clutts and McClain are both 29, and I have a hard time believing that Clutts is a better option.

He had a good game against us. That doesn't mean he is ant good

It really bugs me when people aren't ant good.

Ant's are really strong for their size.
