At 6'0 1/4", he's much shorter. Ratliff is about 6'4. But if we're bringing him in, I'm sure he caught Rod and Monte's eye, so I have confidence he's worth a look.

The clone comment was more about his quickness off the snap, not necessarily comparing the height.

Gotcha, my bad.

He is my #2 pet cat with Billy Turner as #1.

Seeing him run over those small school OLinemen is comical.

Out of curiosity, because you seem to have your stuff together pretty well on this, who's on your "short list" for #16? Any guy or 2 you're rooting for?

Bishop and Zack Kerr are 2 guys I feel we can get in the 6th/7th and could steal time away from the dynamic duo of Hayden and McClain at 1 tech

I cannot tell if its a rip move or if he is just clubbing people.

It's fun to watch. I've probably watched that 20 times.

The power it hard to guage based on the level of competition, but the quickness and agility are very impressive.

I like Barr but there is some risk. He has Dware type athleticism but needs to get stronger and refine bis skills.

Donald would be a good fit.

Lewan or Evans if they fall to 16.

Otherwise trade down.

I'm curious where Attaochu will be available. Will he be there at 47 or does make it into the 1st?

More than a year after his debut with the Huskies, Bishop's rise can only be described as astronomical. He'll be tasked Wednesday with helping slow an explosive Ball State offense in a showdown between powerhouse Mid-American Conference teams.

The senior leads all NIU defensive linemen with 44 tackles, including 22 solo stops — unusually high numbers for a player at his position.

"It's really hard because you're always taking on either one or two blockers before you make the tackle," Huskies coach Rod Carey said. "I think he's doing a great job of fundamental football and that's where it starts and ends when you play defensive line."

Carey said NFL scouts who visit DeKalb always ask about Bishop. He has a quick first step, uses his post hand exceptionally well and the other hand to expertly shed blocks, while his hips can torque well to help him move away from double teams, Carey said.

"When you have that combination and you put it with the way he prepares through the week of watching film, then you have a real dangerous player," he said.

DEKALB — Good defensive tackles are a linebacker’s best friend, tying up blockers, creating a push up the middle and setting their teammates up.

Ken Bishop does the first two — but then he also makes the tackle.

“He’s always taking on double teams and taking on blockers,” Northern Illinois linebacker Michael Santacaterina said. “It makes our job a lot easier, making big-time plays, making tackles in the backfield, quarterback pressures, stuff like that. It’s great having Ken.

”Even when that means stealing film time from the linebackers.“There are times on film when (linebackers coach Kevin Kane) writes down ‘Ken Bishop’ instead of grading us out,” Santacaterina said. “He makes a lot of unbelievable plays.”

NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp made 27 tackles in his first All-Pro season. The Lions Ndamukong Suh, a leading candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has 19 tackles this season.

Ken Bishop has 44.

The senior from Lauderhill, Fla., was the Mid-American Conference defensive player of the week when he had nine tackles and an interception against Massachusetts last week and also when he had eight tackles and a fumble recovery in Week 2 at Idaho.

But even when he isn’t being honored, he’s being noticed by rival coaches.
“I don’t think there’s a better defensive player in the league than No. 93,” Akron coach Terry Bowden said after Bishop had six tackles in NIU’s 27-20 Week 6 win. “He’s the best. He’s a difference maker. He’s got incredible strength and explosion.”

Where is he ranked?

Ranked #372 overall by NFL Draft Scout, 28th among DTs. If it is a true ranking, it makes him a UDFA; but he has the skill set good enough that you take him in the seventh round to avoid having to bid for him.

He has interest from the Dolphins, Raiders, Jaguars and Falcons as well.

Height: 6-1.5
Weight: 309
40: 5.04
Year: 4Sr

Ken Bishop

School: Northern Illinois
Position: DT
Positive: Junior-college transfer who's been a productive starter his two seasons at Northern Illinois. Quick, athletic defensive tackle who projects to the 3-technique spot. Fires off the snap, keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action, and focused on by opponents. Plays with good pad level, consistently gets leverage on opponents, and quickly changes direction to chase down the line to make plays. Explosive, rarely knocked off his feet, and redirects to runners. Flashes strength and plays through the whistle.

Negative: Lacks great bulk and handled by a single opponent. Just an average pass rusher.
Analysis: Bishop was a solid defensive lineman and showed consistent development the past two years. He is one of the more underrated 3-technique prospects in the draft and should get consideration in the later rounds.

I honestly don't see how you watched it that many times unless you muted the horrible music lol. It is fun to watch though. The guy was lucky that he didn't get injured by the olinemen that he pushed to the ground. It looks like he is athletic or he would have tripped and got hurt by all those bodies on the ground.

My system if muted about 99% of the time.
