It seems like we've only been looking at 3-techs (with Bishop, Donald, Jernigan and Reid from Princeton). Also, Melton and McClain are pretty much 3-techs. Like I've heard people say in the past, it seems like Marinelli only goes after 3-tech DTs weighing in the 290-300 lb range and whoever isn't good enough to start at the 3 starts at the 1. I don't see us getting a 330 lb run-stuffing NT. I see us pretty much having 5 or 6 guys who could play either DT position. I may be wrong.
Which is why I wouldn't be surprised if we draft a guy like Jernigan who ends up playing the 1. When Marinelli said you don't draft 1-techs in the early rounds, I think he was referring to traditional 1's. But that doesn't mean he won't start a guy like Jernigan (or even McClain) at the 1.
