TRADED Cowboys trade for CB Kaiir Elam from the Bills

lol wikipedia says
"He played college football at Florida and was drafted as a bust by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft."

too funny, must have been AI written, how can you be drafted as a bust?
Some kid edited it. It also originally said the Dallas Cow girls thoughout.

Losing Lewis hurt
Big time and so preventable. He’s been a solid player for years. Last year we offered him a one year just under 3 mil deal. You could have got a 3-4 year deal for half what he got. These one year deals and waiting to sign guys have only cost us players we wanted and more money. You have to think past tomorrow. If you aren’t gonna pay a guy then trade him while he’s still under contract. If you aren’t gonna pay gonna sign him do it soon as possible. Every year it only costs more

He was coming off an injury so nobody was offering him much money. His agent would never have signed a 3 yr cheap deal in that situation.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback room after losing Jourdan Lewis to the Jaguars:
DaRon Bland
Trevon Diggs (could miss start of season)
Caelen Carson]
Josh Butler (expected to miss majority of season)
Andrew Booth Jr.
Kemon Hall

Long-term injuries have been an issue for a couple of years now. Diggs tore his ACL in Week 2 of the 2023 season against the New York Jets, forcing him to miss the entire year.

The recovery process was a long one for Diggs but getting back on the field was a huge success.

He had a procedure called chondral tissue graft. This is surgery to repair damaged articular cartilage that lines the ends of bones in a joint.

It is going to be a lot of DaRon Bland, and they will need him to have another All-Pro type season.

This FO never ceases to amaze me with how ridiculous their acquiring non-talent and feeling like they hood winked the league.
I’m telling you, they’ve got an Excel spreadsheet with player names, filtered by the round they were drafted.

If it has a ‘1’ or a ‘2’ in Column C, they’re interested, no matter how poorly the guy has played in the NFL.

That’s the extent of their ‘Pro Personnel Department’.

Cheap last year and cheap this year is totally different. I bet money had you offered 5 mil a year he would have taken it.

I'll wait and see him on the field before passing judgment on the trade.

But I can't remember seeing him on the field during Bills games.
Chiefs/Bills playoff game, 3 tackles, tied for 5th on the team. Not saying he's a great player, but he was on the field in the playoff game.

Weren't they the only CB's last year??
NO you don't play with just two corners they went through just about all of them ,

Bland started on IR , Diggs came off injury early on, they tried Cason , failed, Butler got hurt, A/O hurt and on and off , Booth, Muk, and well some I forget,

injuries destroyed that group. I believe Bland finally got back what week around 10 and the 3 only played that one game and Diggs trying to fight through injury's was now Out for thew season the last 4+ games?
