TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

Typical Dallas trade.....they could have gave up a 3rd round pick in the 2025 draft and moved up to get TMAC....and wouldn't have to pay TMAC for 5 years....now they gave up a 3rd and have to either pay Pickens or let him walk.....Dallas boxed themselves in and got another head case for WR and still has to pay him.....so Dallas like..
Probably would have needed to give up more on draft day. Then you wouln't have gotten our new starting Guard, and drafted the CB we picked up in the 3rd round. Also no guarantee T Mac will ever be the caliber of player at this level pickens is.

Just because you would have rather doesn't mean this is a bad deal. We gave up a 3rd rounder. The hit rate on a 3rd rounder may be 25% to ever be a basic starter. We just got a guy defenses fear. Just because you want a defensive player doesn't make this a bad move. It's a great move. Imagine our season is CD gets a high ankle sprain or anything.... our offense would come to a screeching halt. This move is great.
Perfectly said.

OMG, you are so predictable. like clock work...
yeah, that was the most obvious non-answer/ deflection ever on this board....by a mile

btw, I have plenty of comments saying we should draft a QB, in first 3 rounds every 3-4 years and either develop and be ready....its win-win.

but yeah...like I said NO BALLS MC is your new nickname.

this is more than 30 words, so your response is going to be "I didn't read it because it was more than 30 words"...LOL
You know what you get with that troll. Notice how vocal he is when we make moves. Just trolling
hes nervous his narratives may dissapear. Hes a troll without a doubt. Most of what he says has as much relevance as this morning's flush. He just says it over and over so he feels important.

A third rounder wasn’t getting you up in the first lol

I agree that we are not a serious contender. But the issue is thinking we were going to fix all of our holes this year.
Completely agree, but then why go get a guy in his walk year? That's the one piece of this I don't like. Flipping a 3rd rounder for an uber talented WR with maturity issues I'm completely fine with, but if he succeeds in Dallas are they really going to give him $30M+ in addition to Lamb?

no, there is no better dream. its moves a GM makes to make the team ready for championship. not regular season success and early playoff exit as they have been and this move is just another one like that.

is Pickens going to make cowboys Superbowl worthy?

and so then keep the pick. trade up as you said and grab a defensive player in the 2nd. not get a one year rental and lose a draft pick.
So, the Cowboys 3rd round pick next year would make the Cowboys a Super Bowl team?

If it doesn’t work out and Pickens signs a contract with another team next year then we basically get Pickens for 2025, a 6th round pick 2026, and a 3rd round comp pick 2027 for a 3rd round pick 2026 and 5th round pick 2027. Not a lot of draft compensation given up if you really look at it. If he works out then we got a steal.
Why would we get a 3rd round comp pick for a player that didn't work out?

I'd worry more about this trade if you guys hadn't already told me about how Tyler Booker is going to take command of the offense with his leadership skills. Between Booker and Dak Pickens should have all the leadership and support he could shake a stick at. Plus having Flournoy pushing him every day should keep Pickens on his toes. My only concern is will Pickens get enough looks with Jaydon Blue consuming so much of the offense already?

Thanks, I have not seen us getting a 3rd round pick back being reported anywhere yet.
If we gave a 3rd for him for one year, I dont like it.

"A" for effort but wrong culture for this player. The good news is the team just got a lot more interesting. The bad news is Mike Tomlin couldnt make it work with this player.
I honestly question all these character comments....if you followed the Steelers @ all you know Pickens was frustrated with the crappy QB play....and the Steelers inability to get him the football. I can't blame him. Now he gets a new start....and it's up to Prescott to deliver. He has no more excuses. This offseason is about as good as one could expect.

Let's go kick some Eagles in the beak!!!:flagwave:

Not in the told you so business.....but told you so on 2 matters

1) Dallas was all-in on getting a WR2

2) Dallas is not in the market for a RB1 right now

its the entire organization that counts....a disgruntled WR with off the field issues is not going to put us over the top, until we fix the defense.
Philly had #1 defense and their first 5 picks were defensive players.
Philly also has the best RB in football and 2 top WR's.

AJ Brown is often considered a disgruntled WR.

They seem to find a way to pay both. So can we.
