TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

He will contribute. He is a 3 or a 4 on this team. Excellent depth for the Cowboys. Receivers are now solid.
recievers are solid. we get the top offense again perhaps and then bow out in playoffs just like 21,22,23....

and DTs, LBs, Safties and CBs aren't solid. but nah, lets add more WRs

what do you mean no answer? either trade for a defensive player or don't trade and use it to move up in the draft and get a DT, LB or saftey, all bigger needs than a WR2

and here we go with potential this, potential that. yeah, I would rather trade up and get Graham, than a RG any day of the week. or have you not been paying attention to Davis and Jones in the two superbowl teams who just played this past year!

I am sure you are already looking to buy a pickens jersey and that's why jerry loves fans like you....
it's not booker vs graham. it's booker and ez vs graham, and i'll take our side every day of the week. both chris jones and jalen carter are tremendous talents. neither is the reason their team was in the superbowl.

Can someone make a thread titled “MountaineerCowboys was right. Schotty was hired to be the least in control coach in NFL history”?

Then fill it up with comments about how right I usually am about these things.

Thanks, peeps!
Actually the title would be Mountaineer is 98% always wrong.

I followed him some last year and it’s things like getting into it with the media, wanting more targets..I mean against Dallas you saw him suck and let Lewis get into his head and then pulled him by his face mask and flung him. He takes plays off if the ball doesn’t go his way. He is not an all eyes on me guy like TO. He will do something stupid and then apologize and say he shouldn’t have done it.

I take the risk on him.
yeah sounds about right. bit of a knucklehead but w/ the things a lot of nfl players are doing sounds like a bit of an oversell. we'll see though.

Having a #1 offense does not in any way mean we need to have a garbage defense.
If their was defensive help out there we could actually have both. Why act like adding Pickens somehow means we are ignoring the defense.

Which player are you upset we passed on that would have come in and helped the D that much?
Its a false choice you are attempting to make.
but we do have a garbage defense. we have had garbage defense. or did you not watch last year or the year before....
we are spending resources on offense. two 4th round picks, 3rd round and 5th round pick on Lance, Mingo and Pickens. Lance is gone. useless. Mingo is useless and it was a stupid trade. now pickens in the last year of his contract. either we have traded down our top of 3rd round pick to bottom of the 3rd or we have to pay him ton of money, and resources that should be invested in defense.

seriously where are you guys coming up with this stuff.

i mean you post it in every thread. a dedicated thread would be overkill.

Everybody is clammering for Dallas to get a second wide receiver. Now we're clutching our pearls crying but the culture oh the culture. We'll go to the museum and get some frigging culture

Now we get to see Schottenheimer be forced to lie in explaining how Pickens fits the "new" culture.

This has TO and Parcells written all over it.
Or, we all can sit back, wait and see how it works out instead of assuming the worst.
Have fun watching how the season unfolds. And not be miserable whining all the time.

Considering the Steelers wanted #44 overall, if it ends up being a third round pick. I’d consider that fair value. If anything, it benefits the Cowboys.

Pickens is, by far, better than any other WR that was available right now.

As to signed free agent WR’s, he’s better than Diggs or Kupp. Adam’s? Dealers choice there maybe.

Bottom line, WR2 was our biggest off-season need and it’s now done. People will find reasons to be mad, but this is a big move.
This right here. I don't agree with everything they do, but people literally complain just to complain. We all want something for nothing. It doesn't work like that. Good move. Let's see what happens.

To be fair we don’t know if he is AB because Mike Tomlin is good at keeping his diva WRs from acting out until they leave.
Naw AB was a moron there too he was on IG Live while his coach is coaching and talking to the team.

During and prior to the 2018 season, Brown was embroiled in numerous incidents in addition to causing tension within the Steelers organization. This included tossing furniture out of his 14th-floor apartment window in April, nearly hitting a 22-month-old toddler on the patio below,[296] and being cited for speeding, driving in excess of 100 miles per hour (160 km/h) along a suburban Pittsburgh road.[297] Brown was later sued for the April incident,[298] and reached a settlement with the family of the child in April 2019.[299] In February 2019, a judge ruled him guilty of reckless driving in the speeding incident, and Brown received a fine.[300]

He was cutting up lol.

His last few seasons have been pretty bad. He's not the guy he was years ago. And he's in the last year of his deal. No clue if he will be here for the long haul or if he will even be talented enough for Dallas to want him. In the past year, we have given up a lot of draft capital for 3 guys, Lance, Mingo and now Pickens. Lance isn't even here anymore. Mingo seems to be a dud. Pickens is a wild card. All 3 of these guys, you could find their current production value later in the draft, much later than the picks we gave up for them.

Would have much rather used a draft pick on a guy who would guarantee to be here for 4-5 years

Honestly I'd rather make due for a year and take a WR in the 3rd next year. The future is important. And I just don't see a one year rental moving the needle this year for us.

they added two of the best defenders in the draft to our defense. and brought in several former first rounders. personally i'd have rather had nolan or grant than booker, but i like the guys they added. coupled with guys returning from injury and i don't think it's very fair to point to last year. the defense has a chance to be very good imo
this defense is got holes and question marks. your assumption is that all the moves are going to work out just great....reality says, most of it won't and a few will be OK. I haven't seen any great moves. and imagine if you will, adding even more resources to the defense and making not just good, but great.....just imagine that.

Last year, KC didn't score over 30 points all season and they won 15 games, because their defense was great. imagine that. imagine Eagles having #1 defense, coming off one of the most dominant defensive performances in superbowl ever, and then using their first 5 picks to add even more to the defense. imagine that.

yeah sounds about right. bit of a knucklehead but w/ the things a lot of nfl players are doing sounds like a bit of an oversell. we'll see though.
Yeah I don’t want to say he’s not a risk because he is but they are making him out to be Dennis Rodman or TO. Tomlin said it best. He needs to grow up. It’s a contract year from him I think he’s gonna be alright.
