TRADED Cowboys trade for Joe Milton

The Patriots had seen enough and realized Milton can’t play. Same thing with the 49ers and Trey Lance. Jerry Jones is an all day sucker.
He was 22 of 29 for 241 yards and a TD with a 111.4 passer rating the final week of the season in the only action he saw all season. The Pats saw very little of him and when he got an opportunity he played well even if it was against Buffalo’s backups. I wouldn’t be comparing him to Lance.

He also had an amazing TD pass where he avoided three sacks while scrambling that was called back by a penalty in that game.

For me it all boils down to if ya think Will Grier or Joe Mton are an upgrade at backup QB over Cooper Rush.

Personally, I say no.
But opinions vary.

Cowboys!
Talent wise? Rush doesn’t hold a candle to Milton. But Rush is a vet who knows how to win in the league.

Good win for Dallas. Rush was too expensive and you get Milton for 3 years on a rookie deal

exactly Lance played backups and had some good plays but in the end showed even against backups he couldn't take care of the ball..its not much but this guy showed in a real game he can at least take care of the ball.

To those wondering the Cowboys sent the 171st pick to the Patriots in exchange for Milton and the Patriots' 7th round pick this year. So Dallas still has ten overall selections (none in the 4th round).

Best case this guy shows some promise gets some play this year and pressures Dak next season..worst case your drafting Daks replacement the next 2 years which you were doing anyway...

I don't think that's it.......I mean, he has zero financial leverage. I'm thinking the kid just can't play .........brainwise/intangibles. We have to assume Jerry wanted him to work out real bad. Dak went down, he couldn't beat out Rush. We know it takes a lot for the NFL to give up on talent.
But we’ve seen teams give Ryan Leaf and others a chance. Will Grier is on a roster. I suspect Lance will be at least in someone’s camp. Probably advised to wait it out.

The Bills were locked into the #2 seed so this came against their backups. I’m a Vols fan and watched a lot of Milton. Rocket arm but accuracy is crap. You will see.

Yeah man, I'm genuinely excited at this guys potential. If it doesn't work out we lost very little and the odds are he will be a serviceable back up at worst. We needed a back up and he cost very little. There's not much reason to complain about this move.
