The Panthers screwed up mightily taking Mingo in the 2nd. He was a 5th round rated WR.

Thing is, Jerry looks at players draft slots the same way I've seen some posters on here do: He was drafted high so he must be good. What a dumb way to evaluate.
5th round by your own grade or consensus?

The consensus was pretty unanimous that he was a 2nd round WR. Someone even jad him as a 1st round dark horse

Yes but the thing is, he also has not been good. Maybe he can be better and a low end number 3 WR but right now he is a backup on the worst team in the NFL. Meanwhile the starter on the worst team in the NFL went for basically moving 10 spots back from late 5th to early 6th.

I can tell you that this is such an underwhelming pick. As a Cowboys fan from Charlotte, I watch a lot of Panthers games. Dude has issues catching the ball and is prone to wide open drops. He is sure handed when he brings it in and rarely fumbles.

We got fleeced on this trade. He would probably have been a cap casualty after this year.

I just cant get over that this is now the 2nd time in 2 years that the Cowboys have traded a 4th for a player who, at best, is worth a 6th round pick. Does someone need to explain numbers to Jerry and that 4th picks are more valuable than 6th round picks?
You don’t get these two guys for 6ths right now. Which is why you shouldn’t trade for them now. Trade the picks when they have a slot on them.

With the 3rd round comp picks that will not happen, especially as the Panthers and Saints are not likely to win 4 games this year.
Probably true, but still quite a bit to give up.

I think they are hoping to get the player they scouted and not the one in Charlotte.

Why is this fool buying when he should be selling?

This pickup isn't going to make a difference.

All it did was give us is one less draft pick next season!

Jerry needs to be shown the door to an assistant living home ASPA!

MAYBE WE CAN TRADE OSA for a 5th that turns into a 4th based on play etc

Well, there is nothing like trading to fix a glaring weakness. I'm sure this will turn the season around.

On a positive note, it's better than trading for a WR if #4 was going to be throwing the ball.
