TRADED Cowboys trading for Titans LB Kenneth Murray Jr.

Actually closer to 30 years, and if you have watched, they have mostly been correct.
The same people saying “championship!” for every obvious replacement level signing for 39 years is sad. But then they do it for decent trades such as this one too. Just boring stuff. Need new material

Respect the opinion completely man! Thanks for the response. But I don’t see the difference from other years to make an improvement because many are bottom of the rankings on what they’ve accomplished. We also lost some guys. To me it seems like reshuffling. I’m not mad because Jerry did it. I just prefer wildcatter Jerry to this one which takes a backseat to Stephen. I just think this still puts us in a hole come draft time
I prefer wildcatter Jerry too. I like that they have a plan but it seems like a “safe plan”. Do you think Stephen wants guys on 1 year contracts? To me that’s kind of Stephen’s fingerprint on this. Does Stephen want guys on the short term that he is not committed to paying and then we can get more comp picks? I feel better today than a year ago because at least we’re doing something. I’m a little iffy on the plethora of 1 year contracts and I feel that’s more Stephen than Jerry and that kind of scare me TBH.

They want fill-ins that they can replace through good drafting, so one-year deals make sense if that's the plan. The plan has been shown to not work, though.

Frankly, I wouldn't want them to give more than one-year deals to most of the players they've signed in free agency this year. A lot of prove-it guys.

Yeah I can see your point. I would also through into the mix with the 1 year deals it may give us more comp picks later if these guys play well then get signed by someone else. This furthering the “build the team through the draft” method. Which I completely agree with you, just building through the draft has not worked well for us. I wish we could find a balance.

I will say this again, at least we’re talking about new players right now and moves that are being made. I was really preparing to have another offseason of Micah contract drama and that being the only offseason move/topic. So this is a little bit more fun to discuss.

Lool, man, was on a Titans forum and an old Charger thread on Reddit and their fans absolutely hated Murray the way our fans hated Jaylon Smith in the end.

Maybe this is an ill-fated move.

Man, are we just gonna sign every 1st round bust?

Cowboys acquired LB Kenneth Murray from the Titans.

The “compensation” is apparently a late-round pick swap, suggesting the 26-year-old would have been released otherwise. The 2020 first-round bust of the Chargers wasn’t much better for the Titans last year, but he managed to take the field for more than 800 snaps. The Titans, of course, earned the No. 1 overall pick as the worst team in the league. Murray hasn’t looked like a starting-caliber player through what has now been a half decade in the NFL. It’s hard to believe that will change in Dallas. He is currently in the midst of a lengthy rehabilitation from wrist surgery.
Anything is possible.... After all, after year 9, some people think Dak can get better....

Looks like a good player. Has pass rush ability too. Covers well enough. Folks like to complain for the sake of complaining. This was a great get by the team. A Eberflus pick I'm sure. Do the fans understand what we are witnessing? It's not so much the Joneses pulling the trigger on these player acquisitions but The head coach, eberflus, with McClay. They identified who they wanted to fit the team scheme, and they are implementing it. I have no fault in that. I like all the moves. Everyone needs to stop listening to the whiners and go watch some actual tape. Even the Bills cb we got has alot of upside. He's just 23. A young pup. Sanborn has started games and had like 95 tackles last year if memory serves. The tape shows a good instinctful football player with a motor. So we may have gotten 2 starters for a bag of oranges essentially. Let's give the team some dang credit for this. Nothing much is lost if it fails. Love the effort by the team right now. Keep it going.

I don't have an issue with the moves the Cowboys have made, it remains the lack of moves the Cowboys have made. There is certainly still time, but we need to see this team actually fill holes with reliable players who have had success in this league, and not strictly buy low fliers that we are hoping to get lucky on. There is certainly some potential upside to these guys and several should plug in as depth pieces with ease, but we've gone down this road before....Tak McKinley, Noah Igbinoghene, Billy Price, Rashaan Evans, Gareon Conley, Jordan Phillips, Trey Lance, etc. are all former 1st/2nd round picks that we have taken fliers on that haven't worked out the last couple of years.

Zero issue at all scooping these players up, but counting on them to be impact players is the issue. Its the same issue we have in the draft for this team. They do a pretty solid job selecting players, but the level of dependence they put on these young guys to contribute day 1 is foolish and setting them up for failure.

I'm really hoping we are not looking at the positions they have addressed so far and Jerry/Stephen thinking they are good to go. They still need to spend a good chunk of that $50ish Million they have in cap space.

Two things you don't like to hear when you trade for a player.

1) 1st round bust
2) Not much better last year

True.

But we’ve had a few guys in the past who were bust but worked for Jerry.

Marc Colombo, Bigg Davis, Ken Hamlin, Rolando McClain, Aldon Smith, Laurent Robinson to name a few.

The talent is there. Coaching and scheme help

Like you said above, we have time. Let's see what else we add. I think we have good enough reason to have some hope going forward. Despite the Joneses.

I have no seen him play much but my recollection is that he is not a terrible player. He is not going to move the needle and more than likely, when Overshown gets back Murray will be sitting more than playing.

But what do we expect? I never expected the Cowboys to sign anyone that good to start with so I can't be disappointed.

However, I would rather they used the draft this year since it is a deep draft at RB, DT, and LB.

He was a very good sideline to sideline LB coming out of OU. Now he’s more of a thumper. I don’t hate this. Looks like Kendricks is gone.
This is a good move, I like Sanborn better but yes getting 2 linebackers in the same day, most likely Kendricks is gone but there's a reason for that kendricks was very good and I would like him back here but he was brought in because he was zimmer's green dot wearing middle linebacker that can run his defense I guarantee these two guys were picked by eberflus you know the grocery list for some of the new coaches are being filled so they can help transition their scheme easily..

The good news is both these linebackers are strength in the run game they like to tackle and they're downhill which is also going to help the defensive line that Solomon Thomas is also pretty damn good in the run game so there's a scenario going on here they're looking at more about fixing the run D..

physical talent is there everywhere; it is what is between the ears that matters
Colombo came off a very bad injury that he never fully came back from and it was all grit for him thereafter
Bigg Davis was a natural guard that never should have been at LT
Ken Hamlin had one year with us where he was a Pro Bowl Safety and never again
rolando McCain could not stay off the junk
Aldon smith-meh
Laurent Robinson had Romo to thank for financial independence before the concussions almost ruined his live and had him in dark room for some time

but far more busts from other teams were busts with us as well

I don’t disagree with you.

I’m more so just disagreeing with the medias perception on how these bust are unable to turn it around.
