Catch is reading into the comments. The fact is that Garrett does well everything Jerry wants from the coach of his team. The idea that Jerry would keep a coach he felt was incompetent in charge of his $5B baby because of ego is silly. Whatever fans think of Jason, he’s focused and organized and does the things Jerry wants done for his organization. And he does win his share of games.

What fans want and what owners see from a coach can be two very different things.

What an endorsement!

"he does win his share of games".

It's pretty sad when that's the best, unintentional, back handed compliment that can be thought up to defend Garrett.

What's worse, is that it's not even true.

When compared to his peers, Garrett actually does not win his fair share of games.

And most everyone knows that. Like Jerry Jones, nobody's buying what he's "selling".

I just continue to find it hilarious at how difficult it's now become to reach for something, anything, good to say.

A person's back has to hurt bending over backwards that far.

Not true. Over the past 4 years we have been among the best overall in the league record goes.

THis article at the beginning of 2017 had us with 6th best record over the prior 10 years. That includes time before Garrett was head coach.

https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/gallery/every-nfl-teams-10-year-record-ranked-32-1-010417

What I said was true.

Here are the 9 coaches who have been employed by their current teams for 5 or more years, ranked by winning percentage:

1) Belicheck - .743
2) Reid - .663
3) Tomlin - .659
4) McCarthy - .633
5) Carroll - .621
6) Payton - .597
7) Harbaugh - .588
8) Rivera - .576
9) Garrett - .559

He's dead last amongst his peers. Another thing to note......... every guy on that list, except Garrett, has coached in a SB.

Here's the list of coaches who have been on their jobs for 3 or more years, ranked by winning percentage:

1) Belicheck - .743
2) Reid - .663
3) Tomlin - .659
4) McCarthy - .633
5) Carroll - .621
6) Zimmer - .609
7) Quinn - .604
8) Payton - .597
9) Harbaugh - .588
10) Rivera - .576
11) Garrett - .559
12) Mularkey - .488
13) O'Brien - .484
14) Gruden - .445
15) Bowles - .417

And if you go by last four years, as you said, guess where Garrett ranks in winning percentage? 10th. Hardly one of the winningest coaches over that period.

EDIT: I took this from Wiki and it might not be updated for some coaches for 2017 but it shouldn't change the rankings all that much.

When did the Dallas Cowboys become about having a good regular season record, and virtually no postseason success?

He's senile. It's the only answer at this point. He says replacing Garrett and his coordinators has never crossed his mind and yet he wants to know why the Denver and Atlanta games unfolded like they did? LOL. My god.

Reminds me of the 2015 season, where after the season he wanted to know why they didn't squeeze more wins out of back up QBs when other teams seemingly are able to do it.

He actually thinks Garrett and the staff can explain what happened in those games and fix it not realizing it was probably the staff that caused those issues in the first place.

What happened during the Denver game?? Your team wasn't prepared after patting themselves on the back all week after the Gents win. On JG.

What happened against Atlanta? Your HC left a struggling OT out there until it was too late. By the 3rd sack it was blatantly obvious he needed help, but nope, play through it mentally rains.

Smh.......

You really have to laugh that in the same interview he talks about how he has no doubts in his coaching staff, he wants to know what happened in the two games that were really tied to questionable coaching.

LOL.

We both know that’s never going to happen.
Never say never, Jerry is running out of distractions ( triplet legacy, Romo heroics, new stadium, unrepeatable rookie miracle season) if he keeps wheeling out Garrett and his clown show and the gain nothing 500 seasons, fans might start to walk.
