Yeah...I've never seen a coach just openly say one of their players "s u c k s" to the media. That would be downright impolite!!

but you've seen them say a player needs to be better or they can get better, everything a coach say isn't just coach speak because it's not what you want to hear.

The reality here is that people have long been pretty exaggerated with their criticisms of Smith, bleeding into things like how he's lazy or not popular or dumb or not very coachable (granted some of these criticisms are limited and not widespread). Smith is a pretty popular player, so it's not a surprise that Quinn would go to him to get feedback on what's going on with other players, how they are feeling, etc.

It's nothing more than that. It also doesn't mean that Quinn is now gonna play Smith more than he should. I suspect Smith is going to find his snaps cut significantly and he'll be used in ways to try to get the most out of him.

Man...just imagine Parson's ego if the Cowboys go from one of the worst D's to one of the bests....and i'm here for it lol. I don't know what he's like outside of cameras but I like his swag about him. I'm a little shocked he hasn't made any "claims" of what the defense would do.
