This has been a heated competition throughout Training Camp and both have performed well enough to earn the position.

Howell threw two 4th qtr TD passes and had a tying 2-point conversion erasing a 15 point deficit.

Milton , who backed up Prescott last year, was less efficient than in his first two preseason games. Still he might have done enough in those to keep his job.

Most believe it’s neck and neck and some despite Milton’s raw energy and talent prefer Howells experience as a starter.

The fact they’ve both played well enough has started rumors the Cowboys are considering keeping both especially with Prescotts injury history not having two consecutive healthy seasons since 2016-17.

I think that's the word we want to look at for the season with our backups is who is going to be more efficient. Milton will make some nice plays with his legs maybe make a few decent throws, but can he pull it all together consistently like an NFL QB, not bashing him or saying that Howell is a diamond!!

I’m for keeping both.

#1 cause I’m concerned about Dak missing some games due to his injury history. And #2 dont think they will clear waivers .

Same. QB is the one position to keep as much depth at that you can.

Miami appears to be in the market for a backup QB considering they traded one and cut the other one.

I'm for keeping both. But...if I don't see them during "garbage time"....I'm gonna wring a certain so n so's neck! Figuratively speaking of course! :)

The main takeaway here is that just one mere preseason game is the ultimate decider and makes the other 2 preseason games absolutely irrelevant.....I mean they were a long, long time ago.

Thats scouting and evaluation masterclass

I'd keep both and hope someone needs to trade for Joe during the season.

Milton looked like a new Milton in games 1 and 2. He looked like the old Milton in game 3.

I still think his mental processing is extremely poor and for this reason
I prefer Howell as QB2.
