Can you imagine if Dez didn't show up like ODB because it's 'voluntary'? We'd never hear the end of it.
It would be totally different, since Beckham doesn't have a half million dollar Jerry bribe to collect (still on rookie deal). As a matter of fact, Beckham is the textbook example of a player who shouldn't feel any need to attend since his position is guaranteed and he gets nothing for going. I certainly wouldn't hold it against him if I were a Giants fan.

To a point. I understand guys like Hakeem Nicks had injuries in contract years which dropped their value, but you could get hurt while working out at the gym. At this rate every 2nd, 3rd and 4th year player would avoid all non-mandatory off season program so they don't lower their value, but it would be a cowardly thing to do.

Zach Martin still hasn't signed his contract extension and is at risk, but he's still out there. He's an multiple time All-Pro, so it's not like he has any less to lose.

It's not "cowardly". It's their collectively bargained right not to attend. It's a nice racket that the teams pull, as they are forbidden by the CBA from punishing the player in any way for not attending the workouts, but the coaches still pout and grit their teeth to turn public opinion against players for not attending "voluntary" workouts. Heck Derrick Henry missed workouts taking *college classes*, presumably to better himself as a person for his long life after being a human battering ram... and his own teammates attacked him. For again, exercising a collectively bargained right to try to gain an education for himself. It's absurd.

Of course it's fortunate that the Dallas OTAs have been well attended!! It increases the team's likelihood to maximize their player development. Judging by the video, they also seem quite enthusiastic and that's always a good thing as well.

Jerry deserves all the credit for the culture he's created. How many suspensions have we had? Ro, DLaw, Irving, Carroll, Hardy, Gregory. Incredible.
Ro was a reclamation project which everyone knows Jerry can't resist. Gregory, too. Neither of them is especially intelligent, but not bad guys. Some folks have demons they simply can't overcome. Not giving them a pass but I don't need to because they aren't playing anymore so you could say they got what they deserved (and so did Jerry for taking the risks).

Hardy was the one outlier of just a bad dude but he was also a bad dude on the field and Jerry had visions of Haley dancing through his head. He wasn't the only one with those visions.

The other guys were young guys making mistakes. You could say I'm making excuses and you wouldn't be wrong. But 100% participation in voluntary work doesn't happen everywhere and goes to show even the "problem children" aren't afraid to work.

So then are we to assume that there was poor attendance in the past? So what is the difference in leadership now? Garrett has been here for 9 years already. Its Dak. The new leader of the team. Easy to see last year and its moving forward. Dak has what Romo didnt have.
I'm thrilled that we landed Dak!

But they had very near 100% attendance the last 4 years. Scandrick trained out of town and I think one other person.

Plus this is the first year that they have a state of the art training facility right here in town.

You're assumption is WAY off.

No need to continue to bash of Romo. Just move on already and be happy we have Dak.

Don't you hate it when you get your pants all the way off and then realize it's just a Cowboys video?
