So we are looking at Murray hoping he will fail with another team so we can pick him up? I don't believe they are this dumb.....

The Cowboys (and every other team in pro sports) are simply doing their due diligence by looking at college players before the draft. The more you know about players the better prepared you will be when you have to play them and it prepares teams in case those players become free agents.

I suspect that they are looking at him as an option. He's an SEC guy and you know that Gil Brandt loves all things SEC, which means that he is whispering in the ears of Jerry and company to beat the band. I think they might like him. I hope they do. I like him.

He fits the Andy Dalton mold, as Garrett's ideal QB

I think Murray will be a pretty good quarterback in the NFL. He played in dominant conference, tough as nails and has a pretty good arm. I wouldn't mind grabbing him in the 4th or 5th if hes available.

Sounds like he had a very good work up. Probably moving up to the 3rd round now.

If not for his short stature, he'd be a late 1st-2nd round prospect. He could be a good QB with development I think. But, I wouldn't use anything before a 4th on him, and preferably only a 5th. If he slips due to his inability to participate in the combine and pro day (because of his ACL tear), I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys snatched him up as a developmental guy.

We have a good track record with Georgia QB's. Count me in.

He's this year's object of fascination for the Grooming Myth crowd.

Rather have Murray than Orton....he could be a Bus Driver.

It would be nice for us to grab a QB like the Pats do every year, coach them up and trade them for picks.

I would take Jimmy over Aaron though.

I like Aaron Murray, like the rest of you. But yeah, 4th is the earliest I would take him. He's a Trent Dilfer/Andy Dalton type, in my eyes. Nothing wrong with that, but if that's the ceiling, I'll wait til the 3rd day

Unrelated, but when watching Murray's footage and seeing his TE Arthur Lynch--he has some Witten-like traits.

Any QB taken in rounds 2-5 is going to be a waste of a pick. Wait until next year when we are no longer tied to Orton and Romo has 1 less year left on his deal.

This "waste of a pick" business will not mean a lot if Romo gets injured early, Orton does a Jon Kitna impression and we will be desperate next spring.

The draft is about opportunity. If a highly rated QB is available and there is great value, I do not see a real reason to pass. I would not go actively seeking one out, but you cannot just cross it off the list.

You really think Aaron Murray is going to save the day if Romo gets hurt? If Romo misses a significant amount of time we go 6-10 at best and start looking at QB's with our top 10 pick next year and forget that a guy like Aaron Murray ever existed.
