I think we lose this one. It'll be close. But we're going to lose a close one. 24-21

With Bailey and his back issues, this could end up being a factor. We could lose by him not being able to get any FG's. As to tie or win, or just when we need points.
Jason may have to go for 4th down conversions or pooch punt instead of long FG's.

Let's hope Bailey recovers in time. Or that we just get TD's on every possession inside the 40.

looks like Eifert likely out after suffering setback in practice

Yes I think he is out from what they said yesterday, even though the setback wasn't the same injury, it was a back issue and not his ankle.

would love to see Garrett test the Bengals deep with a throw to Butler early in the game.

Yes, as I think Dre Kirkpatrick will be back, as the Bengals have missed him and Burfict, both are back, so that will be a good test right away.

Zimmer was always a good DC, could be parcells didnt want him or wanted a 3/4 guy?
Fans dont get rid of a DC, the hc or jerry would do that, and not because of fans.

I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it this week.

We really can't afford to be banged up on offense as bad as we are now against a good team.

Even Lawrence coming back is iffy-- seems like I've heard murmurs about his back.

Just not very optimistic.

The Cowboys are #1 in the NFL in rushing TDs with 8. The Bengals have not allowed a rushing TD all year. Something's gotta give.

I heard Mike Fisher on The Fan this morning talking about the Bengals offense. Something is wrong with it. They are near the bottom in 3 and out % with 24.49%. And, they are dead last in red zone efficiency at 30.77%.

Not that I'm complaining.

He did nothing but field solid defenses around here. Put a league-leading 4-3 in place under Parcels' first year, switched to the 3-4 and did a great job his 2nd year, and then moved on to another successful stint in CIN after that. People hated on him something fierce here for very little reason, and I never for the life of me knew why. They had Get Rid Of Zimmer banners and sigs, and if you so much as suggested he was actually a decent DC you were a blind rabid homer for a while there.

Not so much now. Though I imagine there are still a few who will rise to the bait and defend their stances to this day. It's a group that thinks he's either still-bad, or that he learned out to coach magically once he took the star off his shirt.

That group's mental state can't ever get past the name of Jimmy Johnson, for any reason.,

There was a "GROZ" (get rid of Zimmer) movement on this board a number of years ago when he was our DC. Idgit is saying maybe we shouldn't have gotten rid of him.

Yep, I recall those days clearly -- you'd think he was the most incompetent peckerhead that ever existed. Funny how things change. ;)

Thanks. :)
It's interesting that some of the guys who we wanted gone from here (Wade Phillips, Mike Zimmerman) have gone on to be productive elsewhere.

True. But Dallas had a legitimate reason for firing both. Wade started the year like 1-7 and the team simply quit on him. One of the worst Dallas teams in a long time. They were getting blown out every game.

And Zimmer was a good coordinator for a long time but his last year at Dallas was a disaster. The last few games he coached as DC our defense was horrible. Maybe not as bad as the Kiffin defense but close. We were getting torched by every team.

Encouraging
....

Zeke has handled 20-plus touches in every game, and the two backs who have gotten a similar workload against Cincinnati (Matt Forte and DeAngelo Williams) each totaled more than 140 yards.
