Jags are good on D,there is no way on earth we beat the jags with Weeden.

Looks like Romo is going to play next week...............................I will take Romo at 50% over Weeden at 100%

And you are correct, if Weeden plays against the Jags, we lose.

If our backup QB cannot beat one of the worst teams in the NFL...the we don't have a backup QB. And I am not saying I disagree with you....but it is eye opening to me to read how many feel like Weeden cannot beat Jacksonville

We got a little glimpse today of what life without Romo looks like...............................its not pretty.

Without Romo, we are a 2 to 3 win team max.

That would be perfect for the 3rd pick in the draft.

Any idea why they do this?

Honestly, I'm not sure. It's probably a function of them players union not wanting more pieces cut out of their share of the pie, and the owners not wanting to raise the percentage given to the players, but you can tell by how effectively we've used the bottom of our roster in recent years that there's definitely a place for teams to add players and develop them over time. The fact that there's a secondary market our there for players who aren't on teams but who are occasionally called in on short notice and expected to contribute tells you all you need to know about the size of the current roster not being big enough. The league makes too dang much money for us to be watching veteran QBs coming in off the street with only a couple weeks in an offense when a starter goes down.

I am among those who thought we are going to have a dip in results sometime during the season. In our high time we won games no one thought we would.

I would like to stay positive and hope these last two games are the dip in our season and we restore normal operations starting next week.

I refuse to panic ……………………………………………. (yet)

Teams haven't had the luxury of two winning QBs since I've been watching in the late 50s other than on occasion.

No, it wasn't on the coaching staff. Did you really think Weeden could toss the rock around on 1st and 2nd down? We'd be staring at 3rd and 10 all day long.

The correct approach was to run the ball and get into manageable 3rd downs. Unfortunately, Weeden couldn't make any plans needed to extend drives.

So please don't complain about the playcalling. There was nothing wrong with the playcalling. We simply had a QB who couldn't execute.

4th down play was on coaches. Game was over after that. Line was stacked!

Yeah. I know there's always going to be a shortage of good QBs. But, at the very least, you should have room to carry a starter, a veteran backup, and to develop a young guy all the time. It shouldn't ever be the case that you're playing a QB who's not been through training camp with you. Even if ti's a guy like Weeden, who then goes out to crap the bed. Enough teams lose QBs every week that they should all have two guys who know the offense available all the time. The limiting factor for developing QBs is reps, and there's not really all that much you can do about that until your starter goes down.

But it's not just QBs. LB and S and DLs go down so often in this league. Defenses like the one we fielded late each of the last two years are just bad football to watch. And there's no need for it to be so bad. Guys like Bishop, or Ryan Williams, or even Laron Byrd should be with a team right now.

The Cowboys got their rear ends kicked today, no ifs ands or buts about it.

For the first time this season, they were dominated in the trenches. They really missed Ronald Leary today - the push inside was not good at all today. Murray did not have the same room to operate today as he had become accustomed to. On defense, the effort was good, and they started fast, but they wore down as the game went on. If you had asked anyone whether Andre Ellington would outrush DeMarco Murray, it would have inspired laughter, but that is exactly what took place today.

The Cardinals played more physical than the Cowboys. The interior line was not up to the test, and the wide receivers were completely abused today. As good as Dez Bryant can be, and often is, he is not an elite wide receiver. Elite wideouts do not get shut down the way he was shut down today. Forget how lousy Brandon Weeden was, and he was brutal, Bryant could not shake Patrick Peterson all day. It seems as if you play Bryant physically off the line, with a safety over the top, you can completely eliminate him from the Cowboy offense. It happened last week, and it was even worse this week.

Weeden showed today why the Browns gave up on him. He does not see the field well, he hasn't heard of the word touch, and just seems to lack an innate feel for the game. The Cowboys need to get Romo healthy if they want to have a chance to compete for the playoffs, because Weeden is far too limited to lead the Cowboys anywhere.

Injuries are starting to pile up - McClain and Crawford went down with knee injuries. Hopefully they aren't serious, though McClain's play has regressed since the Seattle game. It was good to see Lawrence out there - he definitely looks bigger than before, and his arm length is impressive. He flashed on a couple of plays, but needs to improve his stamina. Melton is continuing to improve, and look more explosive out there. As much grief as Nick Hayden gets, I tip my cap to him for a gutty performance. He hurt his shoulder early on, and was dragging his arm, but he continued to play, and was sticking his head in there throughout the game.

The bye week can't come soon enough. Jacksonville will not be an easy game - the travel overseas and the injury situation will see to that.

Ok, call a pass play and it falls incomplete.

You'd be screaming at how we didn't run behind the best OL in the NFL.

Unreal.

My thoughts as well, we weren't going to run the table. The only caveat is that in my dip, I wasn't planning on all the injuries. I was hoping they would stay healthy and get better as guys like D Law, etc come back as the year progresses. Romo's injury and his blitz issues are throwing everything into the muck

I wish for once this team could start to peak in December vs limping across the finish line with a roster full of backups trying to get them into the post season
