I expect us to see more JJ next half. Any reason why Hamlin isn't out there?

there was a possibility that Hamlin wouldn't play tonight because of that hit he took from Battle a couple of days ago, the medical staff wants to play it safe

I wouldn't think that you sit a guy for that long and then play him later in the game in the pre-season. JJ is done for this game. We'll get more training camp fodder in @ RB.

Did you watch MBIII's runs at the beginning? Wasn't impressive at all. Once they started throwing him the ball he looked much better.

MBIII finally got it going at the end of the half.

Barber is a power back, he needs carries to get into a rythm

so does Julius

ummm...Julius looked better than Marion, by far. Marion got some yards late in the second half against the second string but until that he was struggling. Marion has only a little wiggle--he looks for the big hit. I say, it ain't broke--don't fix it. Anyone who uses this game to say Marion better than JJ is ridiculous. When JJ was out there, he looked better

I'm an admitted Julius Jones apologist, but the way Barber has been running, doesn't it seem like he's the starter? I mean if this was your first experience watching the Cowboys, you'd think he was the only 1st stringer out there right now. He's moving a lot better than Jones did. Making cuts, moving people, avoiding tackles.

I keep thinking "Put Jones out there", to make a point to him. His elusiveness is still -gone-.

Actually JJ looked pretty darn sharp. I watched his decision making and he seems to be hitting the whole hard and looking for daylight. Barbers first (drop) step is vicious. If JJ is 2004 JJ we have a helluva combo.

If you are referring to second half of this game, I don't think you'll see him, I think you'll see TT and other running backs.

TT and Battle, that's about it

this is TT's make or break year, so I suspect that we'll see alot of him this 2nd half

JJ goes down on first contact. Im not saying MB3 is that much better. But JJ is by no means a great RB

Fasano should have caught that thing. I've never seen so much commotion from a defense when the O just wanted to end the half.

Are you really dogging Fasano for not catching that ball? Gimme a break.

BTW...Espn is completely ********. I went to that site to get soem stats, and they've apparently missed a minor detail....er uh...a field goal. They have the game as 3 to 3 at the half. Morons. Inept morons.

Yeah he was stuffed the first few times. Two different times he almost squirmed out of multiple tackles, though. Just generally looks much more agile than Jones at this point.

I'm hoping JJ is just stiff right now, needs to get hit a couple times or something. Like JamaicaRector85 said, hopefully he's on the field 2nd half.

Maybe that is why I have never been as excited about this duo as others. I think both are the type who really need to be fed carries throughout the course of the game to get in a rythme. Splitting the carries only makes that more difficult sometimes.

Not a bad 1st half. Cant wait to see some of our more exotic blitz packages!

What I found to be a pleasant surprise was the fact that very few penalties were committed by our team in the 1st half. Almost shocking when considering that it's the 1st preseason game to start us off.

I was also glad to see that the heat didn't have any affect on the Cowboys even though the media was making a big deal about how our team wasn't acclimated since all of our practices were conducted in an air conditioned dome stadium.

Great way to start the 2007 season.

I thought MB looked good. He had some bad blocking early on (Witten missed badly on one block) and still fought defenders. JJ just seems like the same ole JJ. He'll have a few quick hit runs here and there, but he's still a guy that doesn't run between the tackles very well at all.

Overall I'm happy with the play of McQ and Free though.

Calm it my friend. We're rooting for the same team. Not dogging Fasano by any means. He's been quite impressive in the first half. Brad underthrew but it was highly catchable. I guess I just wanted to see a positive drive before the half. I think Fasano is coming on nicely.

don't know about before San Diego, but his 1st 2 years there Wade's D was pretty stout against the run, led the NFL in rushing D in '05, in fact

the beauty of his D is not only does it create mismatch problems for the opposing O, and gets after the QB, but it is also able to do very well against the run, Ferg and Canty are pretty stout against the run, plus the D should be used to playing aginst the run, it was only a huge part of our D these last 3 years
