I'm all for the matchup. Even on 4th and 2 with the season on the line in GB, you throw it to Dez if they're giving you single coverage near the end zone. I just didn't like the position Tony threw from. If Dez is wide open, maybe you take that chance, but he wasn't even before the miscommunication.

Fair enough. I remember a couple of years back, Romo didn't trust Dez to win jump balls so he didn't throw them. Now, he's willing to put it up, but Dez has to understand that he can't continue that route on a blitz. It wasn't a good position for Romo to throw from, but he put the pass where it was supposed to go. Dez just didn't read the blitz or at least he didn't react to it.

Frankly, I love seeing Romo give Dez a chance. Dez earned his trust, but he could lose it if they aren't on the same page.

This is their first game back together since Week 1. Both made mistakes. Hopefully, they have worked out the kinks and are ready for Thursday.

I generally love it, too. Not this one, but, you know, generally.

Romo was the starter here before Garrett arrived. His first full season was under Garrett but he ascended to that position before that.

Im aware of that, and im sure no one here would take the position that Romo has not progressed into an elite QB under Garrett. He clearly better now, than he was in first season as a starter.

The only thing Romo learned from Garrett is to change the play at the line

Funny how all the backup QBs who just ran the plays straight up lost and the QB who called 40 audibles gives us our first win in forever

Just saying

And you know that the only thing Romo learned from Garrett for a fact? How do you know that? Please elaborate...

"You are what your record says you are." Without Romo, Garrett's 8-8 seasons would have been 6-10, or worse. But yeah, Garrett's a great coach because we won a game. And your argument about "crap backup QBs" is funny. Bellicheck won 10 games with the same quarterback.

Makes no sense, Bill Belichick was a nobody before Brady. Theres a reason most great coaches who enjoyed multiple winning seasons and championships, just so happened to have had some of the best talent of their respective eras. Its foolish to suggest that without Romo Garrett would have had a worst record.

"Without your best player your team isnt as good!" mmmmm ok, of course they arent, makes zero sense what so ever....

What game were you watching? We can get pressure but Marinelli for some reason backs off and tries to play coverage. The O-line struggled but when it counted they dominated the D-line at the end.

We won the game so it's easy to say that. I watched the whole dam thing. The lines played better at the end but for the better part of the game were dominated on both fronts. Look we ain't beating anyone good with this kind of performance.

I watched the game and was confused by what you were getting at, too, fwiw.

He means that every time Romo goes to the line he is changing the play. Which is of course flawed thinking. 90% of the time he is just setting the protection. A lot of those hand signals mean nothing at all. He also changes formations based in the D coverage. Very few are actual audibles to a different play altogether. But Garrett haters got to hate.

Yet, when Brady went down, he kept winning. And no, it's not foolish to suggest without Romo, Garrett would have a worse record. A ton of people will agree with that. You must love the taste of ginger in your mouth.

Negative sentiments are welcome in the threads, too, as long as they're on-topic. That's always the challenge. We just don't want multiple redundant loser threads pushing actual conversations off the board.

You'll have to just hide the negative posters like I wish to god I could do.

I liked this...................uhm, not sure if I should've.

I wont respond to the slight insult. But, when Tom Brady went down, in 08, That team had won 3 chips, and had HOF players at other positions. It was simple a better team than we have here.
