Game Day ***Cowboys vs Dolphins post game thread***

After today's results you only need to continue winning. 9-7 will win this division

I don't know if it will win division or not but it gives you a chance, and when you haven't had a QB for half the season then having a chance is pretty bood

How utterly and completely idiotic.

If they were playing so great then they should have at least pulled off a win or few.

Participation trophies don't mean anything in the NFL.

He addressed effort not wins. Many teams would mail it in after 7 st8 losses.

Go back to school. He didn't say they were playing great.

Mine is a Cowboys fan too, she just isn't and NFL fan so much. Once our game is over, she is looking for things to do......so my football day is over :(

Not always though, maybe half the time I don't watch other day games.

I haven't been married long. Just hit the 3 year mark. She turned this season into a Sunday all day thing. "Well, maybe we should just make snack type foods on Sunday and watch football all day."

Well hon, if you think that's best, who am I too argue?

So, I'm pretty lucky in that regard.

Of course, I usually have a boatload of laundry to do, so when the Cowboys aren't on, I miss parts of the other games.

We are two back. If we lose to Carolina and the Giants win, it will be all but over. We can't fall to three back with five to play.

Next week is imperative...............

That's their easiest game left. NYJ in a fake home game. Carolina. Minnesota. Eagles have their number. 8-8 really could be enough.

At least we didn't get raped by the refs this week

The one call that really had me scratching my head was early in the game when they rules it a Dolphin completed pass even though the ball clearly hit the ground and it required a wasted challenge. The back line judge was looking right at it too yet ruled it complete. Thankfully being forced to use a challenge there didn't come back to bite them. Who knows, maybe slow motion made it really obvious to me.

Where's the Coach Red post-game press conference on the mothership website?

Do you really think we'd win that game without Romo? I don't. No way Cassell does anything with the way that D-line was harassing Romo all game. Romo did his normal Romagic and made things happen. Romo saved Garrett once again.

I'm not sure not winning the game without Romo has anything to do with Garrets ability as a head coach. First, Garretts been Romo's coach for most of his career, so he must be attributed some credit with taking and underrated free agent and turning him into one of the best QB's in the NFL. Clearly Romo has progress in his career, under Garret. Secondly, Garrett doesn't make the player personnel decisions, so our crap back up QB's arent really on him.

It's comical that so many anti-Garret folks even try to bash the guy in victory. Its just silly.

"You are what your record says you are." Without Romo, Garrett's 8-8 seasons would have been 6-10, or worse. But yeah, Garrett's a great coach because we won a game. And your argument about "crap backup QBs" is funny. Bellicheck won 10 games with the same quarterback.

Romo was the starter here before Garrett arrived. His first full season was under Garrett but he ascended to that position before that.

Well, Tony made two really poor decisions under pressure. The defense collapsed at the end of the first half. We were bottled up inside our own 20 for most of the game, but that was more field position than it was anything the ST did poorly. OTs really struggled with Vernon on both sides. Suh was a handful, but that was to be expected.

Beyond that, though, Romo had his magic. Terrence Williams re-appeared. We ran hard in some specific circumstances. Just generally looked like the better team.

I believe one of those poor decisions was on Dez. Romo was trying to give him a chance to win a one-on-one on a blitz. You can't carry that route into the end zone.

The only thing Romo learned from Garrett is to change the play at the line

Funny how all the backup QBs who just ran the plays straight up lost and the QB who called 40 audibles gives us our first win in forever

Just saying

Yeah, clearly he expected Dez to be somewhere else.

I still don't like that blind throw in a blitz falling backwards in the red zone.

Well, the result shows why it's a dangerous throw, but you've got your physical receiver in a one-on-one situation and it's hard to resist that. If he stops and posts up, there's a good chance he either overpowers the defender or draws a penalty.

I'm all for the matchup. Even on 4th and 2 with the season on the line in GB, you throw it to Dez if they're giving you single coverage near the end zone. I just didn't like the position Tony threw from. If Dez is wide open, maybe you take that chance, but he wasn't even before the miscommunication.
