That's a good question, but he's been debated here that he was only kept because of his holding skills and Dans comfort level. His punts left a lot to be desired prior to this year.

He really grew as a punter this year IMO and never realized he such a good athlete

Which was due to unforseen injuries. Which is why I am for Dak Prescott leading this team throughout the season and playoffs. Romo is an uncertainty that you cannot afford to depend on at this point of his career (not if you have a very good option on your roster). Saying that, if the last 2-3 years were injury free, a healthy Romo would be a better option than any rookie to have ever played QB in the last 100 years.

Why? Because the backup is bad? I have never understood that logic, if Romo gets hurt you play Prescott. It's not as if you're putting Sanchez out there.

I've always thought Sanchez was a solid backup. He might be on Cassell & Weedhead's level. Of course, he could be rustier than Romo....

He used to be good. Any thought of him being serviceable ended when Denver got rid of him.
