Why does the game on Fox always looks like its broadcasts at 720p and not 1080p

My fox does the same thing it's something about the way they put the signal out depending on which company you watch it on I mean DirecTV dish or cable doesn't make any sense to me but they said it's the way Fox broadcast when I called TV station
