I'd make fun of the Eagles if they beat us 100 times in a row.

It's called being a Dallas Cowboys Fan. Some of us even make fun of the Commanders. SCANDALOUS!

I'm drawing from your interpretation of what's called a Dallas Cowboys fan. I'm absolutely certain that you would have some form of debate with those fans.

One of the reasons that I've been here so long is because there are some Cowboy fans who have real football knowledge. You are definitely not among those opponent colleagues. Making fun of ...is the new mocking ...mocking is a waste of time.

You've been out of the Philly area for too long, then. Yes, he's right, it would be the Game of all Games. An Eagles-Cowboys NFC Championship game would receive more hype in this town than the Superbowl. It would be bigger than big.

As for my opinion, I'm through with rooting for other teams, I don't care who we phase in the NFC Championship as long as we get there and beat them.

You're an Eagles fan with over 3000 posts on a Cowboys message board.

So put away your elietist references to your "football knowledge club" before I jump on your back and ride you ride off the edge of the nearest cliff right in front of all your daddies, Mr. Self Loathing Eagle Fan.

Leading up the Game of all Games....

We win the one that counts. Game 3 vs. Eagles.

We aren't going to beat anybody in the playoffs the way we're playing. Defense is getting shredded and offensive production has dropped significantly now that coaches have caught up to Romo and his limited arm strength. Romo's arm isn't going to scare the seahawks or bears let alone the Eagles.

I'll be happy if Dallas regains form but right now they look like a leper in an arm wrestling contest and things are just falling off.

Actually, closer to 4,000 but who's counting.

You have a few posts here on the Zone yourself. I guarantee you that my time here hasn't ever been easy, but I've learned much from the good Cowboy fans ...you should take some lessons. No seriously ... that said, keep in mind that I'm not correcting your grammar, but give me a break ...elietist??!!

BTW, don't ever talk about jumping off of cliffs ...with or without someone else ...jokingly or otherwise. Suicide/homicide is a very unhealthy analogy.
Here's an analogy for you ...grow some posts and get some experience before you venture after the big dogs. It easy to be a critic, but challenging to dialogue.

Perhaps to you, but what about the other Cowboy fans? Definitely not to Eagle fans. Most that I know ...in Philly, and in other locations, ...have no desire to play the Cowboys a 3rd time. We've got our sights set on higher heights!

I just might "grow" quite a few posts.....but I guarantee that those posts won't be on a Philadelphia Eagles board.

Why?

Because I'm not the fan of an inferior Eagles organization trying to fit in with fans of a superior Cowboys organization by strutting around pretending to talk football while I secretly wished I had the balls to just own up to the fact that I am a closet Cowboys fan.

That's your gig, Phoenix Talon......and there's nothing wrong with it. Just don't go riding on your high horse past my personal space or I'll personally geld it for you.

The Philadelphia Eagles suck. They always have sucked. They always will suck. I can sit here and put on airs about my vast expanse of football experience and knowledge, but that still wouldn't change the fact that the Eagles are a classless, stupid, and amateurish operation that will waddle in infinite mediocrity......... forever.

Put that in your empty trophy cabinet and smoke it.

Did some gelding a time or two also ...I sure wish it was that was just simple talk like yours. But I won't trespass into your personal space -- just didn't know you were that squeamish!

Again, just interested in some challenging dialogue.

Come down into the gutter with me, PT. I wanna whisper some sweet proletariot fan nothings into your ear..........

I've been a Cowboy fan since I was around 6 years old.

I was in my final two years of high school when Dallas won the Super Bowls back to back in 92 and 93. I was captain of my high school football team, I was banging the hottest chicks, and I was rubbing the Cowboys' success in everybody's faces because I was there when they were 1-15.

And you know what? I was loving every single minute of it.

You're NEVER gonna experience that, PT. The Eagles will NEVER win a Super Bowl, and they will ABSOLUTELY NEVER win back to back Super Bowls.....and they ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NEVER EVER EVER do it while you are living the greatest years of your young life. They are just gonna continue to roll along in this gray area of "contendership" until global warming melts the icecaps and drowns us all. Do you want to die knowing you fell for the whole scam that the Philadelphia Eagles are running?

I'm sorry I had to share this with you man, but I just wanted to give you a taste of the sweet nectar that is over here on the greener side of the fence that you gaze so fondly upon. Just hop on over and quit playing hard to get. You know you want to.

Tell 'em Jay-D sent you. :star:

I think you are right but here is why. First I think fans need to understand a thing or two about our team and even moreso our defense. We have lost two of our last three games to the Saints and Eagles. We struggled against the Giants and Falcons and we lost to the Eagles earlier.

The Cowboys can play dominate defense against a team that plays a standard offense but seem to struggle against these teams that spread out our 3-4 defense. Also these teams that have these versatile backs also gives us problems because they force our lbs to account for them and that reduces the pass rush.

When we play teams that dont have mobile qbs and have typical running games ( where the backs is not a back/receiver type) then we normally play well. Against Indy we played a team where we knew where the receiver was going to be on each play and had a typical drop back qb. The same with Carolina. Tampa Bay. Houston. Arizona. Teams who may have good receivers and solid backs but dont pose a threat to have our outside lb to account for them in the flat to often.

Sure we have lost games to teams with the same make-up but those games the Cowboys beat themselves more than the the other team beating them. Bledsoe three ints in Jacksonville for example or the 15 penalties in Washington. We lost but who beat us?

New Orleans, Philly, and the Giants ( we won but didnt dominate) all use their backs as receivers in the flat and as receivers on the line. They are small and quick and put alot of pressure on the defense to account for them. Bush, Westbrook, and Barber all are versatile backs and their presence reduces the pass rush and gave their qb time to destroy our defense. They are able to spread out their offense with multiple receivers sets and use the versatile back in the flat or also as a receiver. Basically, these "junk" offenses caused our defense alot of problems and we were never able to adjust and they basically exposed our weaknesses. The 3-4 is set-up to stop the run and confuse coverages but without a pass rush then you are toast!

Parcells says he will try something different this weekend to increase pressure. Well, I dont think he will need to against the Lions, although they also throw the ball 70/30 and may give us problems. The test will come if we have to play the Saints or Eagles again in the playoffs. Personally, I rather play the Eagles because we are more familiar with them and maybe we can use a 4-3 that would put more pressure on the qb because the blitz simply is not the answer.

You are right about Seattle and Chicago. In the last five games against Dallas, Shaun Alexander has averaged less that 60 yards per game rushing. Bledsoe lost the game last year that we should have won. Chicago will be a classic game because they are a typical team with an very immobile qb and a typical rushing attack that the Cowboys defense will probably look Doomsday- like.

No I am not saying the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl but just consider why we have lost the games where we were outplayed and know that certain teams present certain problems for our defense. Phili and NO? Absolutely! Seattle and Chicago? We should be able to win.

I appreciate your commentary to this forum even if I dislike your favorite team. It seems all to often the sports entertainment world is about the personal lives of players and not the "X" and "O."

I really appreciate the guys here who contribute thier football knowledge. It is worth the frustration ....

In your dreams maybe, ...but not in 2006!

Trust me ...a third Eagles versus Cowboys game in 2006 is not
considered the "Game of all Games."

The Game of all Games is usually called the Superbowl game anyway!

One More thing, simply because we swept the Cowboys in 2006 does not denote ownership. No more than it did retrospectively in 2005 when the Cowboys swept the Eagles.

This Is the playoffs and it doesn't matter what your personal hatred is, because every team is your enemy. If we should meet again, I have no idea who would win. But the Eagles would contend!

We really didn't deserve that game in Philly last year, and we really didn't even deserve to have a chance to win at the end of the game in philly this year. Seems like Andy Reid has BP's number.

ALl bledsoe had to do was find the right reciever and we were in OT the first game despite all that happened. Second game we did not show up for. Except for 2005, that has been pretty much the pattern with the Eagles boys for some time: one is real close and one is a blow out. Who knows how the third game would go?
