Cowboys vs. Fantasy Football

Just wondering after watching people in our draft:

a) Do you pick any Cowboys, or do you think it's a jinx, and

b) Are you willing to choose any NFC East opponents for your team and risk having to root for them?

Just for fun...

I do pick cowboys

I have no issues selecting players from our NFCE counter parts

I have a tendency to pick up atleast one cowboy. In my cowboyszone draft I have three (barber, Jones, and Dez). The only non cowboys player i would chance is probably Desean Jackson.

.....+1

well the way the draft fell the best available QB when i picked in the 3rd round was Romo. later in the draft i took mcnabb as his back up. didnt even relaize til today that the skins play the Eagles during Romos Bye week. im thinkin Mcnabb will be pretty pumped up for that game lol.

i generally avoid them because i cant bench them even with bad matchups. This year i have the cowboys defense in my money league.

I always try to get a couple cowboys but i have yet to ever draft an NFC east opponent in 10 years of playing fantasy. I probably would've picked Steve Smith from the Giants if he would have fell to where I had him slotted.

The only two Cowboys I like from a fantasy standpoint this year is Romo and Austin... our RB situation is a mess, Witten doesn't catch TD's, and although Dez will eventually beast I don't see him really unleashing hell until next season.

I try to pick the best players available...but some how I always get stuck with Eagles players.

No Cowboys on my paid fantasy team. Just wasn’t an opportunity to draft any. Although i do have Cooley and i “had” Washingtons D. “Had” is the key word, i had to swithch them out with Arizona. I couldn’t do it. Not in week one against the Boys.

I rather play Madden than fantasy football. It is emotionally less draining for my sense of fan loyalty.

Money is money. But since I'm in a league with nine not too bright eagles fans, I can and do get Cowboys at a discount.

I have Romo, Felix, Dez and our Defense all at bargin spots.

I boosted almost every Cowboy up my preferences for the auto-draft, and as a result got Romo, FJones, Austin, Bryant, Witten, and Cowboys D/ST all on my team. Looks like I'll live or die with the team.

Because there are so many different weapons the wealth will get spread around so probably not optimal for Fantasy Football - and what looks like a tough schedule is a strike against them too - but it's fun to root for them anyway.

As it happens I drafted no other NFC East players, though I'm trying to pick up the Giants' TE from waivers.

Romo & Austin are on nearly all my fantasy teams.

Rarely.

If you looked at my draft, you would probably think I was a Cowboy hater. No Boys on my team but a lot of NFC East opponents. I didn't intend it that way, it's just the way our draft fell. Oh well, at least I get the pleasure of cutting some of the guys if they don't perform.

:laugh2: well put

I always pick Romo and the Cowboys D if I can and I don't pick anybody from the NFCE...partially because I don't want them to go against the Dallas D twice a year, and partially because I hate them.

This year I picked up Austin in the middle of the second round (19), Romo in the third (30), and Dez Bryant in the ninth round (102) in a twelve team league. I homered out on Romo a little. The only top tier quarterbacks left were Romo and Rivers in that spot, but I really hate Rivers even though he has been a better fantasy QB than Romo recently.

I was a little ambivalent about where I got Bryant, but he's my 4th receiver, and he was the one receiver available at that spot with significant upside. Alternatives were Braylon Edwards, Houshmanzadeh, and Lee Evans, but I don't like the QB's on those teams. Bryant will play some even if he doesn't start, and he might start at some point.
