I am so tired of watching inferior play from my Dallas Cowboys over the last ten years I can just puke! I just wish Jerry Jones would sell the team to an owner who knows how to run an NFL franchise: Come with plenty of cash, hire the best NFL personnel that is available on the market, and let them run the freaking team.
I hope by now some of you JJ lovers realize that the ONLY reason the man's team ever won one SB, let alone three, is that he is the luckiest man in NFL history. Either that, or the biggest con man. Either way, the only reason for those wonderful 90's teams is that the nitwits running the Vikings at the time made the worst trade in NFL history. Jones had so many first & second round picks for so many years, even he couldn't screw it up. Oh, yeah, he was sharp enough to hire Jimmy Johnson, one of the greatest talent evaluators of all time.
That was then, & this is now. We don't have any more tricks or dumptrucks of picks up our sleaves, just bad pick after bad pick.
The foundation of those awesome teams a dozen years ago was not the Triplets, even though many of you would like to think so. No, it was those behemoths that created an inpenetreble wall for Aikman & Co. Do you really think Troy would be doing any better tonight than Bledsoe? If so, retire your DC fan card. He would have dropped just as fast as Bledsoe is doing now. The sad part of it all is that we have had every opportunity to build another great wall, but have the Salvation Army approach to obtaining offensive linemen.
For instance: Andrew Whitworth, OT, LSU, was there for the taking in the 2nd rd. Of course, we just had to have Anthony Fasano. By the way, have you seen him lately in a game? I've seen Whitworth. He first started this year at RG for the Bengals, a team with a much better OL than ours going into the draft, but felt the need to take Whitworth anyway. Yesterday, I saw him playing LT for them. Of course, we're too good to need a guy like that. On to Marcus McNeil, OT, Auburn. We passed on this giant as well. The Chargers didn't though. The team that has blocked Ladanian Tomlinson into multiple ProBowls had an OL that put ours to shame, yet they felt that McNeil was that valuable. They were right. He now starts at LT for the team.
I could go on & on with example after example of very good quality OL we have passed on in the past few drafts.....but then, we're too good to waste a high pick on an offensive lineman. You can still get what you need in the bargain basement of the 6th & 7th rds., or in an UDFA....or overpay a washed up ex-Pro-Bowler & hope he can magically return to the skills of his youth.
For all of you Romo fans who are screaming to get him into a game, I have one question:What do you have against the guy? You trying to get him killed?
