Cowboys Vs Giants ****Game Thread****

How many more non-pass rushing pass rushers is Jerry going to draft? I can't wait for the day when Stephen takes over and we finally get a NFL GM in here.

What am I apologizing for? We are playing like arse in certain areas, I'm just not going to throw in the towel after 30 minutes of football.

Who's throwing in the towel? You think we won't be Cowboy fan's anymore if we lose this game?

If we're still fan's after the Commanders debacle last year, I think we've proven that we love the team.

Maybeeee worse. No sacks, where in the HELL is RW, and the corners still can't cover....

Oh one more thing. MBIII should start and play 80% of the snaps. I'm tired of Jones dodging into piles to pick up a three yards. He brings intensity that the rest of the team seems to lack, and where is TO? My popcorn is freaking stale at this point.

defensive genius my ***.
exotic blitzes my ***.

how the hell can the deep post be open time and time again down the middle?
how can you have 2 safeties and neither of them be anywhere downfield?

we are getting pressure, just not enough

We're getting pressure in spots.
Not anywhere near enough.
Especially since it was Parcells' fault we weren't getting any...

Roy Williams is overrated... Ken Hamlin is missing open field tackles! Reeves, well need I say more. Long night!

Roy is scared to tackle Shockey in open field... thats why he got stiff armde to ground..

At least Ken is playing full speed. I love his play and his intensity. I hope others feed off of it.

My take so far:

Dallas looks extremely sloppy and confused on offense and defense. Hopefully, things will get sorted out during the halftime. I am surprised we are up during the half with that performance.

Seriously, I know the Giants are double teaming TO, but Romo and he have been on a completely different page all night long! Do they have the same playbook???

So far, Reeves has been a bust and I am sure they Boys are kicking themselves for letting Glen go.

My biggest fear is that this is the second coming of Barry Switzer coaching where the coach just dials it in and tells the players to just play ball instead of taking a truly active part in every element of coaching. Obviously, this isn't the team of title team in the 90's so Wade doesn't have this luxury, but the team doesn't not look totally prepared. Besides the play, penalties are reflective of this.

Either way... I will keep watching and hoping that things come together and that I am totally wrong.

Forgot to add... ummm... does it not seem like JJones is still Mr. Robot?? If that 4th down play had him in there, I would assume he would just run straight into the pile and not look elsewhere and improvise like Barber did.

And why did everytime I see the Boys go in to tackle someone, I cringed because I thought someone would get injured since they hit their own teammates more then the freaking Giant with the ball!!!

Again, I hope this changes.

Let's come out strong in the 2nd half. We have to get T.O involved.

WOW! After 30 minutes of the season, people are ready to slit their wrists. You doom and gloomers call yourselves true fans, when all you do is cry woe is me!

Some of you so called DIE HARD fans are pathetic!:rolleyes:

I thought we played well in the 2nd quarter. They got the drive on us to end the half but I can see a lot of positives for this team if we are healthy.

Romo isn't sharp tonight but he's still thrown for a TD and he's not thrown any balls that should have been picked.

J Jones still goes down on the first good hit...

Our O-line still commits dumb penalties...

Still having trouble getting T.O. the ball early...

Still cover the other the team's big marquee receiver in the red zone with our midget CB...

Still don't have any strong consistent push from our defensive line...

I think this second half will show us if this is a grind it out kind of team or not. No Newman, Ferguson or T. Glenn hurts but all teams have injuries. Just look at the other sideline. No more excuses...just WIN!

Everyone remain calm. The Cowboys lead at the half, what else could we ask for at this point? Sure we have lost players, but so have the Giants. Let's go Cowboys! The pass rush looks better to me than in previous years, at least we have a guy coming free once in a while and not just colliding with another Cowboy at the line of scrimmage.

No one is giving up on the team.

But this is eerily similar to the last six games of last year.

Our defense couldn't get off the field....couldn't tackle...couldn't pressure the QB....and we had WRs wide open.

That's what's frustrating us. Some of us need to vent.

Halftime — Dallas 17, New York 16

Goat of the half — Tyson Thompson. Fumbling a kickoff in the last fifteen seconds of the half is inexcusable. It handed New York a free three points.

This time it worked — Marion Barber bounces everything outside and it can drive you nuts. It worked on his TD run but on the play before he passed up a sure short game, tried to bounce it wide and was dropped for no gain. It’s feast or famine, but he brought the big run on 4th down.

– Tony Romo to Terrell Owens — 4 attempts, 0 completions. A couple of plays look like blown routes by T.O. The others were poor passes by Romo.

In fact, Romo has only one completion to a WR so far.

– On the other hand, look at Jason Witten’s line:

3rd & 7 — Witten for 10;
3rd & 6 — Witten for 23;
3rd and 7 — Witten for 23;
3rd and 10 — Witten for 9 and a foot. Barber scored TD on the following play;
3rd and 10 — Witten for 12 and a TD;
Romo has a new security blanket.

– The kick coverage units are okay. All Giants returns are to the 25 or shorter.

– Jason Ferguson is out for the night with an elbow injury. Jay Ratliff has shown some grit as his backup. No news on the severity of Ferguson’s injury.

– Brandon Jacobs is also out for the night. I heard a report his injury could be serious but have no confirmation.

– Wade Phillips has a reputation as one of the best in-game adjusters. He’s tightened things up considerably after Eli Manning bombed his defense one and almost hit him for a second TD.

– That said, the coverage is better but Dallas still is missing way too many tackles in the secondary.

– New York has had some success splitting Jeremy Shockey wide and pitting him against Roy Williams. Williams has given him an eight to ten yard cushion and it’s an easy catch for Shockey every time.
