Game Day ***Cowboys vs Lions Pre-game thread***

Well we know for sure there won't be the same coverage we gave him last time with just Carr and insufficient help over the top. He'll have more attention from a safety and thus a double coverage look. Carr will be on him some of the time. It's going to be a big test for that whole defense.

This is what I'm thinking. They might play a cover 3 on first down but I'd play some sort of man under using Carr on him when possible with help over the top. You have got to be physical and big enough to stop some of those extended radius catches. I think Wilcox or Church can help more. I don't expect them to keep him under 80 or so but I'd sure take that. The problem with Johnson is the same as Dez. They're open even when they are covered well. Hopefully we can disrupt his routes enough to allow the DL to pressure Stafford who doesn't handle that well. Stafford will throw into coverage and likes to force the ball for the big play. When he's on he can be nearly unstoppable but that doesn't happen enough. If he takes what we give him then this game will likely be close or at least closer than we'd like.

Big day for Andrew Luck - feels like his stock has been slippin' and he needs to rise up and show he is one of the best in the league today. As far as Dalton goes, he looks like Vanilla Ice today, so he has a long ways to go to impress.

Luck needs to turn that corner today and start living up to the hype. No doubt that he is a good QB but he is stuck in a rut.

Lets hope so. As we ALL know they are down their starting guard and tackle. We have to be able to take advantage of that. They want to go deep just like last game. So my guess is they max protect and go over the top with CJ and the doucherTate. It's their only chance really.

If they get the protection, that makes me nervous because although Stafford is inconsistent he can get hot.
