Starting a back up quarterback makes me feel like this would be the time to switch up our defense some in terms of pressure.
Instead of the usual four man rush with occasional stunt/twist that sometimes gets our guys totally driven out of the play and leaves gaping holes for a run right through the heart of it, why not something to disguise where the pressure is coming from?
Im not opposed to Jaylon blitzing at all, but him standing right in the middle of the defensive line with clear intentions of rushing straight ahead doesnt really have the same effect as overloading with pressure from one side with a corner or safety.
Make the back up question where the pressure is coming from is really what I'm getting at.
We seen the God awful Jets doing it to Dak all day long with a secondary that, without Jamal Adams, is really not good. They hit him alot and made him really uncomfortable.
This secondary doesnt make enough plays on the ball as it is so to have them chasing receivers all day with their eyes never on the QB or ball, let's try and turn up the pressure and force this QB into making bad throws.
Just my opinion based off how we've played lately. Another back up quarterback carving us up is more then I can handle after last week and some of the other gems from the season so far.
