Teams that beat the Patriots don't lose to the Jets...

Let's slow down and see if we can beat the Vikes, Bills, or the Lions first.

Then we'll talk Pats

About the pats personnel , they seem to have a better than usual defense this year,
I think some of their draft picks have turned out to be very good.
They get a lot of ints, and last game had 4 more! keeping scores low too.
Then on offense they are pretty solid player wise.
But it seems to me they finally have a very good defense again, which makes
Them better than they usually are.

How do you guys think we match up against the Patriots, player vs. player. This isn’t about coaching. This thread is only about our personnel vs their personnel.

Coaching and game planning are really hard to separate from personnel. The Patriots are known for having "average guys" that play as a well-oiled machine. That is the whole premise of the Patriot Way. We have a talented roster, but their defense is much more talented. It is the strongest defense they have had in their dynasty...and that should scare everyone.

But when the Cowboys are expected to lose, and everyone counts them out, they often pull off a win. This happened against an unbeaten Colts team and an unbeaten Saints team. This has happened twice with Philly. Maybe history will repeat itself.

Pats lost to Miami last season so it does not work that way claiming because Dallas lost to one team that means they can't beat the pats. I do agree that cowboys focus should be on NY Gaints that they will face coming out of the bye and then some other teams before the NE matchup. But the outcome of 1 game does not have any meaning in another game

now they have only played steelers and bills as for good teams,
but 14 points is the most in a game against them. 2 of those, and a 10 point game, then the rest are single digit !! which is impressive.
And 2 of those were 0's which in todays nfl you dont see a lot of .
A team is doing good to get 1 a year.
They play the jets following our loss to the jets, and it is 33-0 lol.

They have a bunch of average incredibly smart players with an Elite QB and excellent coaching.

We have a bunch of good dumb players with a really good QB and poor coaching.

Pats lost to a division rival off of a freak one in a billion play. Dallas lost 3 games in a row to a sick QB that just threw 4 interceptions along with his bad HC, and got blown out by Green Bay. Its not just the outcome of one game, it's the outcome of them all. The mistakes that were made. The Jets game just stuck out to me because it's blatantly obvious that we should have easily won that game.

If the Cowboys can win the battles at the LOS, they have a chance like they would in any game.

For what is worth, the Patriots have struggled against mobile QBs the last couple of years. Question is what will Dak do more of? Stay in the pocket or scramble.

So coaches aren't personnel? I'm sorry to inform you that they are. Patriots > Cowboys in 2019... until proven otherwise.

If the Pats are undefeated we beat them easily. When was the last time we've lost to a team that is undefeated past October?

Their defense could definitely create havoc and our defense probably can’t stop their running game nor pressure Brady enough.

Pats usually take out your best weapon and make you beat them another way.

I think the Cowboys have more overall talent than the Patriots. I think we will give them a run for their money.

They have looked dominant, but so did we against the doormats of the NFL (other than the Jets).

Yes Dallas lost to a poor team that is 1 individual game that has no bearing on the outcome of any other game. To claim well Dallas lost to the Jets so now they are incapable of beating the pats is just stupid. 1 game has nothing to do with another game or the outcome of that game.

We've got more player in the top 100 .

Cowboys fans love to count "names" and declare themselves the winners of the talent Olympics. Problem is depth matters too, and sometimes having 3 B players is better than having 1 A and 2 Ds. Even "bad" Patriots teams tend to be deeper than average, it's part of why they don't crap out if one guy (other than Brady) gets hurt and the Cowboys regularly do.

That said the Patriots defense this year is both talented and VERY deep. They have the best free safety and cornerback in the league, and are like 6 deep in solid DBs, and their front 7 is really solid. They can rotate a ton on D and attack at 100% effort for 4 quarters without wearing out. They also seem to have struck gold with some young DE/LB hybrids nobody has heard of yet and their pass rush is way nastier than usual for them now.

On offense the OL has some injuries and the receivers and backs are a bunch of "nice" players with no real superstars, but it's Tom Brady back there who mostly still looks like The Man even at 42.
